Nightstar is a star league mech & I'd buy it day one.

If I'm being honest about what should be next, it's been a year since a light was added. I'd vote Javelin personally.

Yes.

Personally, I would recommend a Thresher instead.

Diamond Shark seal of quality!

Mass produced? Yes. Looks like it was scavenged together from random shelves at IKEA? Also yes. However, it wouldn't be a bad battlemech, given PGI tends to inflate battlemech hardpoints.

Not a light mech (or a quadmech), though, so no money for them!

Add more weapon variety. As well as accessories.

Mechs are nice but not really what will increase quality of life/play.

Quadrupeds OBVIOUSLY.

Also, the rest of 3025 roster, especially on the lighter side of things, like the 40 tonners.

I'm a 3025 snob, so if it isn't 3025, I'm not going to even think about buying it (with perhaps an exception or two for things like the Firefly/Shogun/etc)

But at the same time, I generally don't care what they add, new 'mechs are pretty much always a good thing. I'm not getting the Supernova, not even for C-Bills, but I'm totally fine with seeing it in game.

Long time lurker and occasional poster here.

The first video game I bought was MW3 - so seeing mechs like the Ebon Jag, Bushwhacker, Supernova, etc in MWO is a nice nostalgia trip and I'm happy to buy them.

So things like the Annihilator, Champion, Avatar or Sunder would get a vote from me. Heck, even the Strider for sheer comic value. The game is flawed, it needs new maps and more depth to the faction warfare - but at the moment it is a mechwarrior game that is populated, looks good and generally fun to stomp around in after a day at work. Some added nostalgia techs from the older games are a selling point from my point of view.

Sorry, but lights in this game are not something I'd shell out $20 for - they don't have a defined role outside out running around trying to avoid mediums and/or streakboats. Maybe the Firefly - but that would probably not be too great in the MWO environment.

It's always nice to see lurkers finally post something. You should stick around and do it more often. Personally, my MW3 nostalgia has been drained enough from PGI that I need SOMETHING besides new mechs to get medistracted enough to go back to blindly buying shinies. But if they throw me a bone, I know I'll go straight back to major whale status. Not of my own volition ofc.

Honestly I hope they stop with mechs for a bit and focus on maps.

I agree. Specifically, I'd like to see some game modes that feel more like military scout, defend, and attack missions so we get some gameplay that deemphasizes the deathball dynamic. Game modes and maps where it's possible to win using tactics instead of mostly meta and mouse clicking reflex, at the very least for Community Warfare.

Endo steel and Ferro should both have the slot restriction reduced to 10 instead of 14 and should be cheaper to make it different from clans.

Double heat sinks should have their slots reduced to two instead of three but make them get critted more often then clans to make them different.

Medium and small lasers for IS should have their ranges increased and heat reduced since ALL laser mechs have heat gen/range quirks of at least 5-10%, and ER versions should be introduced that reach out to the same range as clans BUT have less optimal range to make them different from clans (also cooler then clans too).

Make IS XL engines not die from losing a side torso but make the penalty at 50% for speed and heat lose, introduce light fusion engines with the penalty the same as clans but only saving 30% for wieght. And make standard engines have increased CT structure and potentially a slight agility bonuses so that they aren't useless after the changes to XL and the introduction of light fusion engines.

This is what I wish would happen to the IS, I'm tired of seeing people chasing quirks or saying a mech is only usefull with quirks.

I disagree. IS mechs and weapons should feel inferior, but cheaper. That's the fun of playing IS: you get to be the underdog. Otherwise, like previous mechwarrior games, it turns into "just pick the mech that looks the coolest in your desired weight class." It sucks the flavor out of the game if the IS and Clans are perfectly balanced with each other. Too much balance is bad. I really like the Clan/IS balance the game has now, even with the significant clan nerfs compared to TT. Despite the clans being nerfed almost equal to IS, they still have a different feel and flavor, while IS is still fun to play.

I think PGI is on the right track with balance.

As for IS mechs, I say more 3025-3050 IS mechs and varients. My favorite timeline is the 3050 Clan invasion because of the underdog dynamic it gives IS. Later in the timeline, the game loses it's flavor for me. Things get too equally balanced and too complicated with all the weird new tech. I wish there were enough players to allow for picking specific eras to matchmake for, 3025, 3050, 3067, etc. Maybe add some incentives to play in a later era with older tech to make it attractive.

This is pretty much where I sit, though my strongest suggestion at this time would be the Javelin.

Finish off the core batch, move on to some of the Star League stuff... We don't need every light, because lights start to get pretty homogeneous (How many combinations of SRMs, Machine Guns, and Medium Lasers can you build), but at least getting the core Succession Wars mechs out of the way would be a good idea. God forbid, they might not forget that the Vulcan, Clint, or Whitworth exists.

Once TRO3025/3039 is pretty much covered, then we move on to 3050+. Maybe 3055, considering how far the devs are reaching for clantech right now.

FFS, people...

Anyway, give me some lights and mediums. Javelin, Mercury, Wyvern, Assassin, Dervish. Plenty of options in the 3025 TRO alone. And if we want new stuff, there's the Hatamoto series of mechs, the long-awaited Flea, the Grand Dragon (either as an extra Dragon, or PGI could make up variants to give us a mech pack), or the Imp. And that's without even looking at quads.

Lots of things open for PGI, if they would only take the steps needed.

Firemoth. I know, I know, IS but still. Firemoth.

To expand on that; I don't think there's many gaps in what the IS have. The differences are likely to be mostly cosmetic. Possibly something in the 20-30 range. Maybe the Mongoose?

I'd luke to see the Wasp and Stinger the most, but a Stone Rhino would be nice. A lot of the nogo mech as well like hatchetman or a quad.

I'd also like to see another multi-mech pack, like a set of the first IS omnis.
