Well it makes sense.

Medium Pilots and Lights generally lead the charge. So you get sweaty balls.

You won't see the fan in Kodiaks or Most Assault Mechs as 95 percent of those pilots lack balls. Hence, no cooling required as they hang back and UAC5/UAC10 or Gauss/PPC.

Anyway, that's tear 1's for you.

It's actually something quite new in a mech cockpit.. moving parts not attached to a screen.. I say it's great to have some more immersion.. nice to have a fan in the cockpit you don't have to buy with MC..

I think all Mediums and Lights should have one. They have the biggest balls after all and so naturally you need to keep em cool to avoid uncomfortable swampiness.

These are lost tech, so to have one in your mech is to be a God.

Clearly in the 31st century, there is no such thing as health and safety, even armies have managed to work out that having uncovered fan blades, causes months of training to be rendered useless in a few seconds.
