Yet another that's seemingly unable to grasp that without new content, there won't be anyone left playing to buy those mech packs.

What's the point of a million mechs when you have no one to play against?

That is exactly what i'm trying to say!

That would make total sense if the same people that worked on balance, level design, and/or other content were the same ones that work on mechs. I know it seems that way because mechs are the only thing that appears to get done on a regular basis, but what really needs to happen is the other departments need to get their **** together.

Ultimately that is likely down to a failure of leadership. They're either not getting the right people or they're not giving the right people clear, obtainable objectives and/or enforcing milestones.

Absolutely, there is (should be) departmental separation of work/responsibilities. And the mech production department has zero impact on the other departments. That's the point I was making...

Folks need to understand and appreciate that said, the department that is tasked with mech content creation are the principle contributors to the active revenue stream. They work in parallel to the other departments that are working on "other content" to include non-monetized assets. In effect, the mech-making department pays for the other departments as well as covers soft operational expenses.

Reality is the non-monetized content departments are closed door development entities. We have no idea where they are in development and how much content is actually there. All the community sees is more mechs being pumped out and little if any non-monetized content being presented.

And PGI wonders why everyone is so salty? Posted Image

Fact is PGI's gone gun-shy... They've reneged and redacted so many time that they refuse to show their hand anymore because it's easier to deflect accusations than to offer mea culpa for yet another failure to make good on something promised.

I figured your post was satire, but the OP wasn't. But you're right, the mech makers are at the forefront of everything and seem to be the only ones that are visibly and transparently productive. So we know they are capable of having a functional productive development team. What we're left wondering is why aren't the others like that?

I agree with what Buckshot is saying. At some point the, which I believe has long past, new mechs are purely cosmetic. How long can you sustain the game by skinning the same content. I bought the Warhammer because of my childhood crush. I leveled it up and parked it in my mech bay because it doesn't play well in the game. I'm sure many Battletech fans in the game have done the same. I understand Mech Packs fund the game but it's hard to continue to ask the player base to continue to pay for something that doesn't add gameplay. I would pay for map packs and game modes. PGI hasn't monetized content that expands gameplay, so we don't see it (or very infrequently).

IMHO... It boils down to:
a.) Nothing promised nothing to apologize for when it doesn't happen.
b.) Secondary to glacial state of non-monetized content development its counter productive to announce anything because they can seemingly never meet their reach goals and even when they do... they've been unceremoniously neutered and no longer match the original intent.

PGI will create new mechs because that's all they can do reliably to make money.

For everything else, they honestly don't know how to keep you here otherwise.

I'm not here for PokéMechs.

Neither am I you're better than that I had higher expectations in your understanding about users here! :(
You should obviously know my main pushes for MWO (before my mad cat MK II rant) were engine upgrade or swap and PVE single/coop.

CW needs to die like the failure I said it was going to be since announced over providing an actual game foundation.

CW actually has to actually NOT suck to keep this game going.

Having PvE actually culls the potatoes and makes them think they are a star... to again be wrecked when the come back to shooting "people with intelligence".

CW doesn't need to die, it needs to be reworked so it's not just QP 2.0 with planet selection and respawns.

People who expect "safe spaces" in a purely PvP game like MWO should instead play in one of Elite Dangerous' private groups.

Only when you stop asking for the madcat mark 2.

Actually, not even then, because CW is the only mode in this game that's actually enjoyable.

Idk OP, as far as meaningful content goes, and Uziel would feel pretty meaningful in my Hangar.

Just remember that most of your mechpack dollars are literally going straight into making the next mechpack after that one.

With the number of people willing to keep shelling out for them every single time, PGI has nearly zero economic incentive to do anything else. Why bother doing anything else if the current scheme is working as intended?

No you missed the point again which at this point I'm not surprised. AI will be the filler that the potatos used to be. At this point you've got very little chance of getting a potato to come back and be fodder for the experienced units.

So quit trying to make this games focus be CW for any longer it failed.

You missed the point as well. Those people who needed safe spaces already left that is why CW is dead. CW will never be more than a game mode where you fight AI (replacement for the potatos that will never come back) and on the rare occasion it finds you another unit willing to fight you.

Your right they won't, and they'll stop paying staff wages and close servers.

I would be totally fine with this. It is what PGI deserves.
