That would make total sense if the same people that worked on balance, level design, and/or other content were the same ones that work on mechs. I know it seems that way because mechs are the only thing that appears to get done on a regular basis, but what really needs to happen is the other departments need to get their **** together.
Ultimately that is likely down to a failure of leadership. They're either not getting the right people or they're not giving the right people clear, obtainable objectives and/or enforcing milestones.
Absolutely, there is (should be) departmental separation of work/responsibilities. And the mech production department has zero impact on the other departments. That's the point I was making...
Folks need to understand and appreciate that said, the department that is tasked with mech content creation are the principle contributors to the active revenue stream. They work in parallel to the other departments that are working on "other content" to include non-monetized assets. In effect, the mech-making department pays for the other departments as well as covers soft operational expenses.
Reality is the non-monetized content departments are closed door development entities. We have no idea where they are in development and how much content is actually there. All the community sees is more mechs being pumped out and little if any non-monetized content being presented.
And PGI wonders why everyone is so salty?
Fact is PGI's gone gun-shy... They've reneged and redacted so many time that they refuse to show their hand anymore because it's easier to deflect accusations than to offer mea culpa for yet another failure to make good on something promised.
