I think it would be awesome to have an app where you can access the mech lab and manage other things on the go. what do you guys think?

Apps are old school... the new hotness, is just to make a webapp that is mobile aware (currently what I am doing in my job).

So mobile app no, web app (responsive for mobile clients) yes.

What exactly would you need an app to manage your mechs? I like apps but playing in the mechlab would make the day at work too long.

I was hoping someone had made ANY kind of Mech App, just so i could scroll through the different Mechs and read up on them.

Yes. Sounds fun. Would be nice to see leaderboards stats and mechlab as well as the persistent universe map at a glance.

Having an app that would show me the IS current status like planetary status, battles that are raging, maybe even some current hot topics or political events\news within the Inner Sphere community and with the game.. Hell yeah id say there some app worthy stuff here

I would love a mechlab widget for my HTC phone..be able to customize variants on the go and send changes to the game..hell, I would PAY for something like that..

im one of the 8 people who use a windows phone. so even if they made an app they probably wouldnt make a windows7.5 app.

Could you clarify a little? What differences would your idea have from current mechlab apps like heavy metal, quickmech, skunkwerks, etc?

well perhaps not a mechwarrior App from pirhanna, butt, that doesn't mean that Dev's couldn't spend some time putting together a decent API so that the crowd could make the apps they want.

They do this in Eve, and it works fantastically. The crowd based apps are eons ahead of anything devs can come up with ... not because devs are stupid, far from it ... its just the passion of a million people outways the smarts of a couple dozen any day of the week.

It could even be 3rd party and not access my actual mechlab, but just have one with all the mechs, hardpoints and weapons so I can sit there and theorycraft until I find something I want to actually do and work toward.

Theorycraft would be good. Show your various influence standings, C-Bill balance, etc. Access the micro-trans market. These are things I would love a mobile app to do.
