It's a Huntsman with more armour and grossly overtonned. It's not bad looking in my eyes but not awesome either so it doesn't get a mechporn buy. The armor difference is too small to really matter, I can do the same load outs on other mechs, unless it's monstrously quirked it's got nothing past mediocre.

The Linebacker is unique, for me, only in being my least anticipated Clan Mech to date, and the ONLY clan mech pack I haven't even remotely considered buying.

Even if it's absurdly quirked and OP due to some Paul level Dartboard Of Balance amazeballs quirks, I'm utterly uninterested.

If we didn't buy for quirks half of the mechs in this game would be sold for scrap.

The mech only has 17 tons of space available for weapons and DHS plus, that is about the same available tonnage as an Adder has available to it. This is 6 tons less than the Stormcrow which is just as fast, is smaller, is going to likely have a smaller movement profile and has near the same armor. Why would you ever choose the Linebacker over a Stormcrow??

Sorry but this one is absolutely not worth the investment and I doubt it will be worth the C-bills.

Well the Huntsman may have more guns but this will have more armor & speed (100kph +)

Well they are supposed to be balanced, as per the FAQ. Technically not delivering a remotely balanced product is false advertising and is illegal...

Well, I guess we can see why no one sane/knowledgeable wanted the Lbacker. It was fairly popular in polls so that's why it got picked I'm sure.

Yeah, I mean the Kingfisher would have been WAY better than this. Or the Turkina for that matter, with the added bonus of having a CJF assault as sexy as Marthe Pryde herself.

But no JJs. If your giving up those JJs, then you might as well go with the Stormcrow because that will give you the speed PLUS another 6 tons you can devote to weapons and or heatsinks.

I'm sure you know what I meant.

Buy a new mech because it has OP quirks, you're gonna be sad because those quirks will absolutely get nerfed. Same if you buy an older mech that recently got op quirks. OP quirks never last.

It will probably be pretty deadly up close. Though it won't have all the weapons in the world, a 65 ton clan mech moving around the field that fast should not be ignored.
