Hello All,
Although I have been a player for about four years I have never posted on this forum so please be understanding.
I have just tried with my team mates to drop a scouting match and found that there are no other players to fight. Quite literaly there are no other people in the queue. I apologise if I have used the wrong thread but this is very important; no one is playing the game in CW they are just PUGing!

Yes. This is the esports future you have been waiting for.
Join the remaining population in QP, until Russ announces the glorious revival of CW at Mechcon, where upon he will avail us to all the things being done to make CW great again.

Scouting outside of an event is generally a endless process of sitting in a queue.
So no surprise there.

It's dead a lot of the time. But some nights you get lucky and few on each side will queue and re-queue for a few matches.
I have over 1600 Scout matches in the short time it has been out - most of those solo. It may be that many players, as with Invasion, just don't like the mode. What is certain is Clan/IS balance is way off. The most common complaint as IS pugs and solos quit is "not fair." I've easily heard that a hundred times. And they're right. PGI has the numbers, but I estimate win/loss is around 60/40% and much worse for a pure pug team. Even when you drop with good IS pilots and win several in a row against all levels of Clan play, the Clan team often heavily out-damages. In pug v. pug, this means a Clan win most of the time.
Any dispute about Clan/IS mech balance is rapidly answered in Scout Mode. During the event, planet after planet, night after night, it was the Clan winning Scout advantage. With the Huntsman's missile boating, it's only going to get worse.
If 60/40 is about right, that is a terrible balance spread that should not have gone a month. It should be < 1% in any game or the game loses reputation and following. In game design, balance is paramount.
Unfortunately, there's no fix. PGI has made the mechs asymmetric but victory conditions or other balancing factors are not likewise asymmetric. The only 'quick fix' available is tonnage. Remove the Clan 55 ton and/or add the 60 ton for IS and see where W/L ends up.
Until there's some semblance of balance, the queues will remain dry. Until IS pugs can win half the time against Clan pugs, they won't be coming back.

I'm looking forward to hearing about how it will be ready in 3 months.

Scouting sucks. If it payed what a regular match payed maybe it wouldn't be so bad. It just seems like a waste of time to me, If i'm going to ghost drop i'll make more C-bills on invasion, and find a few matches from time to time.

I heard a rumor that scouting will now have giant black obelisks with glowing runes hidden in each map. Upon these obelisks will be inscribed the many new and exciting ways you can purchase mech packs. You will need to purchase the special mech pack module in order to translate these runes however.

No, no. New scouting will need "Rune vision" mode, which will replace night vision. Can't see other mechs when it is engaged, but the lighting effect is just superb for making the runes stand out to provide a pleasant and soothing reading atmosphere. That is the "big announcement" at mechcon.
