Is there any progress regarding Eyefinity support? From what I understand, it isn't that difficult to make a game work in an Eyefinity (Deus Ex: HR did it well and didn't eat up much production time). To those of us who have it, it would make the sim part of controlling a mech be that much better.
I mean, to physically turn your head to look out your mechs windows or see various screens instead of having a static HUD imprinted over the sceen would be amazing would it not?

As much as it is nice to look at, I think that if it allows some players to have a larger field of view, it's giving them an advantage over other players. And that is not cool.

The natural peripheral vision of the human eye is much faster than your mouse would be if you had to hold a free-look key to look around. That means you would be able to spot flankers much faster from the corner of your eye, as opposed to other players without multi-monitor support which would have to manually look left or right to see the same.

Maybe I don't understand it correctly, but I don't know how they could implement it without breaking balance.

I'm all for more support for every peripheral/multi-display. Now if only I could find and hook up a VR helm from MW2 for this, the game would be perfect.

However, I would think that a multi-display should NOT increase your field of view.

Would love to have it, but I'd choose track IR first. Its cheaper to get much the same effect.

people are complaining because it would give an advantage? Maybe the developers should throttle FPS to make it fair for those without the latest hardware. Eyefinity is nothing more than providing those who wish it with a more complete gaming experience, just like a faster processor, video card, and larger / multiple monitors. Devs, please add this feature to the game, complete the experience.

Wile I appriciate both sides of the conversation I must say if I get called a hacker/cheater once in a day.... im having an off day. Does the fact that my computers are in the top 1% of consumer grade machines on steam give me an advantage... yes it does. But at the same time the equipment I play on doesnt make me a good gamer. It is more along the lines of skill and team work. For example, any one of the guys I work and game with could sit down at my rig and have the worst game they have ever played....(they probably would since im a trackball user) The machine is only for polishing the skill a player already has. So, Im all for eyefinity, Joysticks and yokes, frag pettals, VR helmets and any other cool tech you can find laying around as long as it doesnt involve aimbots or some other kind of hacks.

Remember, I could play Eddie Van Halen's guitar and Ill still sound like ive only been playing for 3 months but he could pick up mine and still sound like himself.

so long as the person on the other end isn't outright cheating. i could not care less what hardware they are using to experience to put input into their game.

Given that to my knowledge Cryengine 3 requires at least decent hardware as it is, and Eyefinity 3 monitor is supported by even a Radeon HD 6570, and the next-gen 7470 is going to have it, plus Nvidea is giving 3 monitor support starting on their mid-range cards and up for the 2012 GPUs, I say yes. Completely yes.
given that at 1080p and low setting for crysis 2 with 3 monitor setup can be achieved with a $150 with a Radeon HD 6790, and we're talking about the same game engine, that's not that hard to consider as this is intended to be a higher end game than most F2P MMOs by what I can tell.
Personally, I feel it would be like the premium content- you get a bit extra for what you pay for but nothing which would break the game. eyefinity just gives you a bigger picture, doesn't make you react faster or have more skill.

Thats almost impossible... if you allow multi-monitor support and don't increase the FoV it messes up the aspect ratio.

Those complaining that multi-monitor improved FoV gives an advantage... guess what so does everything else on a top end gamming rig... Macroable keyboard (no way to counter), super high sensitivity mouse (can't counter), 7.1 SRS, Fios line ( no counter), Track IR, the list goes on and on... face it those who are willing to fork it out for an advantage are going to get it one way or another

I had a great long argument for eyefinity support, but just deleted the whole thing in the interest of common sense. FoV issues are irrelevant when there is a radar in the center of the screen giving you an updated depiction of enemy/friendly units around you. At this point eyefinity support becomes overpriced [though extremely enjoyable] eye candy. Even if it's an unidentified grey dot, the odds of distinguishing friend from foe on an eyefinity setup are PROBABLY going to be minimal except in cases of units with more "extreme" [ie, easily identified] paint jobs,

Stay in the 21st century, support eyefinity ^^

Exactly. It's not really that high end any more as even $100+ ATI cards support 3 monitors, I use a 5770 I bought 2 years ago for $175. And used monitors are cheap, free even if you are willing to go with old school crt. In fact if I was doing my rig again I think I would go for 3 salvaged 4:3 office lcd monitors for the cost of one new 1080, or even the 16:10's I have now.

My point is that many rigs bought to run this game will be capable of running triple monitors and it shouldn't be considered an elite perk but a capability inherent in current generation PCs.

Please, please, please properly support eyefinity at minimum change the FOV and preferably center the hud. As a user I can tell you I won't really be playing your game much if it doesn't at least fhange the FOV as it's really hard to go back to a single monitor after enjoying 3, there are a lot of games I just stopped playing when I got the 3rd screen ;)

I have triple monitors with eyefinity. I desperately want good multi-screen support.

By good I mean minimally speaking the ability to move UI elements around so they aren't way off to the sides where you have to turn and look at them...

.......but what I'd REALLY like to see is the ability to use a 2nd and maybe third monitor just to display UI elements WITHOUT going to a super huge ultra wide resolution on the 3d world. Going to a huge FOV looks cool, but it takes a heck of a computer to run 5760x1200 resolution at high settings on a new game and get good frame rates.

I want the center screen to be my view out the windshield, and my other screens to show the map, damage, ammo, etc. displays.

Im in for Eyefinity too. It doesnt make me play any better then i did before i had it either. *Shrugs*
What i really would like to see though is multi-monitor support that will allow dragging vairous parts of the HUD to their own dedicated screens. Left and right views out the cockpit perhaps, radar displays, weapons/armor status etc. I intend to build a "pod" or "simpit" as many call them for this game. Big on the simulator feel.
But Eyefinity.. for sure.

Part of me really wants eyefinity, but part of me realllly doesn't want eyefinity. I only have two monitors and it's going to tempt me to spend a money I don't have if eyefinity is supported.

Track IR sounds really cool though, and if that was supported I'd definitely shell out for that. But it sounds much less likely than eyefinity.
