But honestly, I would never, ever want it to be ingame. It would either be worthless, or make the AC/20 obsolete most likely. RAC2's and RAC5's would be the closest we could ever get.

Moreover I am against non-canon weapons especially since there are canon weapons which should be implemented first.

Ask Russ Bullock (preferably on Twitter) to implement UAC-10.
UAC-10 is one ton heavier than standard AC-10, but needs the same amount of slots, so it would fit where you need it.

Excuse me, what is "crit-splitting"?
Say you want to put an AC20 in an arm. You don't have enough crit slots in said arm, but you do have spare crits in the attached side torso. So you put the AC20 in the arm, and the extra crits spill into the side torso, but now your arm can no longer move. Your AC20 can also be damaged via crits in both locations.

Toss on a truly parallel flight path with a fixed radius for the projectiles and you have yourself a deal.

Sound reasonable to me. It allows for more build potential for mechs.

It also allows for things like Hunchbacks with an AC/20s AND XLs (And you can use the CT, so you don't even need to mess with your arm)
I'm not sure if that particular thing would be a good idea, but you get what I mean.

There isn't enough of a tonnage gap between AC/10 and AC/20 to make it work. That said, the AC/10 should have been 10 tons (why is it 4 more than the 5 while the 5 is only 2 more than the 2?).
What I do want, however, is a 3 ton, 1 slot laser. There's this huge gap between Medium and Large Laser and it's just ridiculous. Only the MPL fits in there.

All the still-missing IS UAC and LBX models, LACs, and HMGs, on the other hand? Oh my yes. Throw a few of those at me and I'll love you forever. Especially the LACs and HMGs. This game desperately needs more low-tonnage ballistic options.
