Don't forget the Urbie or Raven, either. Slap a UAC10 or UAC20 on those and suddenly slow big gun IS lights don't look like a joke anymore.

that said i wouldnt mind having 3060 weapons, or even weapons that are available in the current timeline but not mwo. introducing ammo switching proper might help to alleviate the boredom. give us new types of ammo for all ammo consuming weapons. i might carry narc more if i could equip explosive rounds, or maybe inferno srms, and of course fix the cac travesty.
hell just let me pick one kind of ammo and not have an in-game switch. those upgrade switches in the mech lab, the artemis switch in particular, seem to be able to switch one set of launchers for another. if you do one of those for say lb autocannons, you can switch from single shell to scatter shells. apply that to srms too so you can switch to inferno rounds (make the inferno ammo exceptionally volatile).
also seems viable to do an arrow iv, you dont need to split crit the launcher, just make the ammo take 3 slots, make the launcher itself take up 10. this limits the launcher to only st and arm mounts. you cant equip more than 3 without running out of places to put ammo. especially when you can only carry 5 round/ton and they take up 3 slots. so 3 launchers would only be able to use 4 tons ammo (5 rounds each), on top of this you need an std engine, and its a 12 ton system on top of that. thats a lot of tradeoff for 6-2/3 salvos. you are better off with a pair of arrows, an xl engine, and 15 salvos (for the cat c3 that comes with jump jets and no backup weapons). you can also make the launcher take 11 slots, and so the weapon would be torso mount only on most mechs (and require std engines), the cat-c3 and other selected mechs might come without upper arm actuators so it can arm mount the weapons (of course its fixed and acts like a torso mount).
utility weapons, like flares and markers. say you are on polar highlands, you crest a ridge and see a bunch of enemies there, unsure of the grid reference, you simply shoot a smoke round in the general direction, this would ping its position on the radar and alert other mechs to the impending threat, and provide visual info. flares can be used at night to either illuminate the map or to blind other mechs who might be using night vision.
