And why would this be any better than adding the IS equivalent then balancing them against each other? As for IS Standard ML, balance it against the Clan HML, which has higher heat and takes one more crit space over the IS ML, but has way higher damage.

There is a larger difference in stats/role/etc between the IS ML and Clan ERML than there is between the IS ERML and Clan ERML.

Larger differences make balancing easier because of reduced overlapping and more clearly distinctive roles/advantages/whatever.

Add weapons? Ha! What do you think this is, a game where no weapons have ben added for years resulting in staleness...?

What? As long as the people at Mechcon manage to hammer it into Russ's head that we want new weapons more than new mechs, he'll be likely to do so. If there is one thing this community has taught me, its that if we bully the devs enough, they'll do what we want them to. the only issue is uniting the community long enough to get what we want. Last time it happened was when we got ED pulled back.

But they haven't buffed MGs yet. :(

That has because we haven't united enough of the community for the devs to take notice.

You mean, there's not enough salt piles shipped to Vancouver yet.

It can be arranged.

To be fair, it was a little strange that the Goose Waffle didn't get the same 2x max range nerf that all other ballistics got during that time period way back when.

660m is a bit low for a sniper weapon. Nothing strange IMO. ERPPC is 810m and has lower projectile speed to boot.

The 'optimal range' has always been 660m. The max range of 1980m was really just a holdover from before the time when all IS ACs were considered too stronk because of the AC/5 being used with PPCs on poptart builds.

I think that one of the PGI staff said that 3x max range on ballistics was just to compensate for having to constantly pay for ammo in closed beta.

Excellent. I'll be starting a thread in a little bit here, as a request from me to anyone going to Mechcon.

EDIT: I should clarify here. There is lots of salt shipped to Vancouver, just not a lot of the same kind of salt. For Russ and CO to take notice, there needs to be consistency in the Salt. For example the outrage over ED was unified and consistent, thus PGI put it on hold. If we want new customisation options(AKA Weapons, engines, ect.) We need to be unified and consistent about it, otherwise we will get nowhere.

Actually, here's a thought. Instead of shipping salt or anything for that matter to Vancouver, don't ship anything at all including yourselves. An empty venue will deliver the correct message. Posted Image
