So last I actively played MWO was maybe 1 year ago, things were not bad but there was no going forward either. I've been keeping up with the updates now and then and all I see is new mechs every new update.
Is this game going to keep being a Mech collectible game or is it actualy going to evolve into something more than just endless deathmatches? Because I was really hoping for the Co Op campaign or some other types of missions. Something with more flesh and bone other than just killing eachother.
But I'm dissapointed in all I see is the same over and over, mind you I love all of the new mechs and they're pretty cool but that's it. Why add more to the same? I was hoping I'd see more features and game modes this year but seems like it's taking forever for this game to become more than just a Mech shooter and honestly at this pace even Star Citizen will come out before MWO has a solid base game.
I'm not hating on the game, mostly because I love mechs and battletech. I had a lot of fun playing the game but I can't keep playing a game where it's always the same over and over.

Going Forward?

Here is the thing. Most MP only games are just as repetitive as MWO. I have been playing 6 years of LoL on the same Summoner's Rift, for example. The biggest difference hence lies in the gameplay.
And yes, MWO is never gonna evolve to be more than FPS arena game. Not as things stand.

I'm aware of that but some evolve, some get forgotten in history and others make sequels. I have nothing against how they want to make things but I'm just not going to feel the urge to play as much if the game doesn't have more features in the next years.

While I understand the difficulties in taking a lesser know title, making it into a global game while residing in a small cap market such as Canada is I hope that PGI has some big plans for really making FW modern rather than its current 90's -esque gameplay. Much of the game is fun but it is always salted by the haunting realization that so much more could have been done.
Honestly, however, I think PGI is thinking the title is too old to do much more gambling with major developments for MWO and is probably looking for their next major project -- probably something for mobile devices.
Basically just play it and enjoy it as it is.

There's really no need for you to play MWO unless you like collecting mechs and FPS'ing in an arena environment. Don't come back with unreasonable expectations or you'll be disappointed/upset.
It would be like getting upset that the Kardashians aren't making progress on fission powered cars.
