Gents,

Apologies in advance - I do not have much knowledge to the Lore, or MWO mid-long term road map.

I just want to understand if there ever will be access to UAC10 technology for IS Mechs?

If yes - when (in terms of BT timeline vs current MWO timeline)?

If No, why? :)

Thanks!

Introduced to the Inner Sphere tech base in 3057. Current time in MWO is between 3051 and 3053.

But the time line is likely to fall apart soon, so... don't use it as a road map.

Inner sphere aren't allowed to have:
LBX2
LBX5
LBX20
AC10
Streak 4
Streak 6
Or XL engines that aren't trash

Because then clans would *only* have lighter weight, farther shooting, less slot weapons..... and we can't have that now can we?

Ah yes, another "Clans are OP!" claim. I love those.

Personally, I would love everyone to get their corresponding weaponry just so I can have ATMs and MRMs already.

Me too...I have twice the KDR in my spirit bear compared to AS7 despite them using identical builds.

It's so weird how a 20pts of structure don't make up for being 10% faster, having longer range, and being able to use the extra space and tons to fit 5 more heat sinks.

It's almost like all the tech being clan somehow gives me a significant power boost..... almost.

Seriously though, MRMs are going to be a ***** and a half to balance.

To be fair, most of the clan inventory make the game half ******. Now if we're to double that inventory and add IS infront of it, its going to make the game 100% ******.

Lets throw in the Clan XXL Engine as well. More weight savings than a Clan XL, but you die the moment you lose a side torso.

At first thought, would give left nut for IS UAC10. Then realise have to find another 1 ton to fit it into an existing AC10 build.

13 tons 7 crit isUAC10 vs 10 ton 4 crit cUAC. How's that anything but clan OP?

Nah, lets have Thunderbolts. The Tbolt-20 is basically an indirect fire AC20.

And Heavy PPC! 15 point damage for 10 tons!

Which IS mech can afford/benefit from a light fusion engine? Arent they just lighter STD with torso crit space? So only STD mech can afford them but they need more space, isnt that the worse of both world? My STD mech tend to be big and use the torso space.

I know my Shawk-5M could use one to fit dual UAC5s, and run at reasonable speed--same story with the quad UAC5 Mauler. In all seriousness, LFE will still be inferior than Clan XL, overall.
Clan supremacy will still be unshaken on all classes, even after LFE.

Light Engines occupy 2 crits in each side torso, like Clan XLs. That means they aren't killed if they lose a single side torso, like with Inner Sphere XLs.
