[Mad Mechromancer]

I've always enjoyed the giveaway challenges. It builds excitement, and keeps me playing. But, this one isn't for me. Although I have a set of three mastered Novas, I'm House Davidion, so no Novas in CW for me. No Crabs. So, I went to try CW again (shooting for the 6 matches with minimum score of 80) and it was a ghost town.

Sitting in a game lobby for 15 minutes to ghost drop is Not playing a game. It's Waiting for a game. And it's Not Fun.

So, back to quick matches for me - or, since there isn't a challenge I can participate in, perhaps I'll try another game.

I remember times when we had in all of the Factions good units.


Conclusion: No extra time for you Sir! You activly choose this Faction, now live with the side-effects of it. You can't have one without the other.

No, good pilot or not ( lol ty ) i will keep choose the most populated faction, event or not, in fact i have no problem for find matchs ( i play CW/FP as pug since beginning i am smart enough for know how find matchs and choose the most populated faction is 75% of solution ) about extra time i will just miss few days, like some others people who simply don't care.
I ask... if they don't agree isn't important.

So...my unit went Jade Falcon for this event. I was apprehensive about the overpopulation problem, but it's turning out well so far. A few observations follow.

1) Re: CJF overpopulation. I finished the invasion portion last night. I got 3 drops that evening. If you're not getting matches, you're queuing at the wrong time. Yes, the queue was very busy and rather lopsided, but I didn't give up after just a few minutes of waiting. No, I wasn't in a 12-man until the last drop, to which I was only invited because of some comical stuff happening in the previous drop. If you want the matches, be on when matches happen. PGI can't control when that is.

The overpopulation thing remains an issue, but at least for this event you're able to work within it and still accomplish the event's goals. It just takes a level of effort that some people aren't willing to put forth, and it's okay if those people don't get the rewards. Easy mode doesn't always turn out to be so easy after all.

2) Re: Clan/IS in scouting. Sure, I won more matches than I lost, but in every single match...win or lose...only one or, rarely, two players on the losing side didn't make 40 points. (Sometimes that was me, so I know from whence I speak.) C'mon, that should be just a couple of alpha strikes. Nobody likes to lose a match, but a loss where you still qualify for the event isn't quite as bad.

3) Re: Nova vs. Crab. Most of my scouting losses were against teams with 3 or 4 Crabs, regardless of how many Novas were on my side. I don't own a Nova, so I can't personally speak to its effectiveness against Crabs, but I have learned that those Crabs are some really tanky mechs and some pilots take good advantage of it. Some...don't. If it isn't working for you in scouting, try to get your KMDDs/kills in invasion and run a different mech for scouting. If that still doesn't work, well, there are plenty of people who can't participate at all in this portion of the event because there is no trial Nova...welcome to our world.

seems only the invasion part is being updated, none of my Scouting or Kills or KMDD are being updated.

bummers, since I'm not a fan of piloting the crab, I want to get rid of that crab, but can't because the updating is broke

In the few scouting matches I was in, I found most crabs where using 3 LPL. I am guessing that this the trial mech. This maybe why so many are losing since nova players like me go into close range where we have the advantage. Combine that with skill ups, mods and mech experience we will certainly have the advantage. Sadly over the last day matches are rare to get with my real life but I guess I will have to accept that I can not get the max MC reward.

if you are clan, invasion drops wont happen atm, and scout queue dries out due to nova-hordes reals oon.
if your IS, you can completely forget it - either you get chewed and spit out in invasion or you wont get a single kill with the crap in scouting. very much irritated. that event is a mess.

EDIT: nova - 12 energy slots, brawler. crap - not enough slots, works only with XL, long ranger. forget about it. that mech has no business in scouting.

I have to say that the Crab is a really poor IS choice to go against Novas and Stormcrows in scouting missions for this event, even with coordinated teams.

Nope, we won every of my 6 invasionmatches this weekend. But maybe it is different in the european timezone.

Won all 6 of my invasion matches (5 of them with ease) and the majority of my scouting matches. I'm not in a unit and dropped blind in all of my scouting. So, maybe git gud?
