:edit: it looks kinds like it plays like an over grown light mech instead of a medium, which will be funny to watch people try to face tank things

Although I agree with you about how the Linebacker appears in the preview, I'd have to say I don't seem to experience this large CT in my Huntsmen you seem to mention. I find I have overly large legs, but besides that the Huntsmen spread damage rather well.
I was worried that the Linebacker may have a large CT. However, I shall wait and see. I did see a lot of damage go to a side, and it may have been more skill than hit box size that lead to so much CT destruction. Just too early to tell still, but that preview isn't boding well either.

Also, very maneuverable, with huge twist range and has some (almost) meta stock builds.
I believe it will be a very frightening sight if you are in a light of medium mech.

Interesting I like my Huntsmen and found they work very well with quad artemis srm6 with spl support in scout mode, as its almost always a brawl, or dual erppc in the solo queue, but with any weapon system requiring face time (uacs etc) my CT was a damage magnet. What builds are you using?

I have several builds. I have one with an UAC10 and 3 ERMLs (and a TC) (This one I ranked 67th place on the leader boards with), one with 2 UAC5s and 2 ERMLs, one with 2 ERLLs and 4 SRM4s, another with UAC10 4 ERSLs and 2 SPLs and the final build has 4 ERLLs. I tend to be able to spread damage rather well. The CT can take a lot of damage if you don't shield much, but I find it doesn't take much twisting to spread damage to a side torso either. Might just be the way we are playing them.
Out of everything, I've only seen the Hunstmen take some odd hits (from taking, dealing and watching) with the legs. Can't say if it's because they are large, or have some strange hit boxes with them. Only other complaint I'd have is the fact that all their quirks are linked to full sets of 8. What that "tells" you is that the Huntsmen is on par with mechs like the Stormcrow once you start swapping omnipods. No offense to the Huntsmen on this, but they are good but not that good. Some quirks should be unlinked to the set, and the legs probably could use +5-10 health (probably structure). My opinion of course.

I truly expected the Linebacker to be another Vindicator type mech in my bays. Fun to take out and play for the sake of lore and love of the mech, but not when winning or completing events is the primary goal. To that end I am pleasantly surprised with the performance of the mech so far. As a pilot who prefers speed/agility in my mechs (XL everything even Awesome 9M before quirks) I've found the Linebacker fun to play, and holding it's own in quick play matches so far. This is without any pilot skills unlocked as well. As I'm a Marik loyalist in faction play I can't comment on how it performs there, and would like to know others opinions regarding such. While still early, I have not heard any complaints of the mech being OP nor totally useless in any of my matches yet. Also if it matters to anyone reading this I am Tier 1 (just shows anyone can make it there if you play enough matches).
To that end I would like to congratulate PGI on a well constructed mech right out the door. Hope more such mechs continue to follow.
