"An OmniMech is a highly configurable (sub-)type of BattleMech developed by Clan Coyote during the Golden Century. OmniMechs mount some (or all) of their loadout in modular OmniMech-compatible OmniPods."
Omnies in this game are strictly used by clans only. Then by this logic it is clan tech.
AS for the other part: face to face stand down does not require a lot torso twist... But i get you point,
And the Nova is developed by the Hells Horses, yet all clans have them. developing =/= using it.
at the moment omnis are clan only because fo the timeline but IS will get omnis too. and then they get their very own heavy NVA, the Black Hawk KU.
But boating to a dgree you dscribe it hardly ever happens most boatings happen around 5-6 weapons (less for the Ballistic boats) and here most mechs, no matter of omni or bttle fit in.

All (current) MWO omnimechs are clan tech. Not all clan mechs, however, are Omnimechs. There's a substantial difference, but those differences don't really have anything to do with what you've brought up in this thread.
Face to face combat is exactly when torso twisting matters the most. The only time you shouldn't be twisting like a lunatic is when you have high rate-of-fire weapons like clan UA/Cs or Inner Sphere AC/2s. You should either be doing full twists to block with your arms, or be jiggling your torso around in 30-ish degree movements like you're working for tips.
thats why he failed in the centurion, CNT is very good at twisting, given you do it. The essence of twisting is so vital in this game, especially against lasermehcs like the NVA.
also Nforcer, look at the match I posted, my Iceferret just has 5SPL's and did nearly the same damage as the Niova, so seriously how is that omnimech 12 hardpoint thing so relevant?
Please stop complaining about some mechanics when it's not the mechancis being the problem, please improve your own gameplay to a degree where you start having enough knowledge and experience about the mechanics. Then you are able to even make a proper discussion. So far you have just shown half broken knowledge paired with medicore gameplay. and this won't lead to a proper discussion. CQC or your face to face stand down is all about twisting like a ballerina while unlaoidng your volleys in short twiststops. except your have some stream Ballistic weapons. it is one of the most essential keys to CQC success. your sideprofile of the centurion is especially well suited for twisting, not doing that is not utilising one of thats mechs biggest strength.
Go and be a ballerina, you will see you will survive longer. And if you don't believe us watch successfull gamers on youtube or stream and see how vital twisting is.
