Something they have never done before:
  • Create a new mech from scratch. PGI original, designed by Alex.
  • Release a chassis from post 3055, like the Mad Cat 2.
  • Release a mech with special hardpoints. (Imagine if they released the Fafnir with heavy gauss hardpoints, and you could not equip heavy gauss on mechs without those special hardpoints)
  • IS Omnimechs.
I don't think we're getting Quads, I know we're not getting LAMs.

won't happen anyways, the onyl timeline proper is the matar. doens't even have variants (unlike PGI invents some in SVN style) and it's only 110 tons.

My guess is that the "not done before" aspect is something minor, like the Cyclops sensor quirk.

I'd be very surprised if it's something major like quads or IS omni, though IS omni wouldn't exactly make me happy since it's bound to suck donkeyballs.

It won't be melee or other major mechanical changes because that would be such a gargantuan thing and if PGI ever does that it will be hyped beyond belief for at least a year before being scrapped due to technical problems and pretended it was never promised.

And if it is a Clan light... Double win for me. >_> At this point, I'd be ecstatic for any light mech. Even if it was the two bad ones people are clamoring for (Wasp/Stinger).

Well, there are a few mechs that SHOULD have leg hardpoints, PGI simply moves them to the side-torsos.

Which, to be honest, is probably for the better, because leg hardpoints are kinda garbage Posted Image

Well, I want both. IS really needs a functional light more than clan, but Stinger/Wasp is not that.

Javelin is probably their best bet. Same size, if not smaller due to being tubby, as the ACH. Similar hardpoints in the all energy one as the FS9, with the option for a missile one. Could be good.

Meanwhile, if the Fire Falcon is released, being non-humanoid and 25 tons, might only be a hair bigger than the Locust. :3

Any mech (regardless of being in previous mechwarrior games or not) not either currently released or available for pre-order is something they haven't done before.

Let's be real here.

Quadmechs would be a totally new thing.

However, given Russ' propensity for overstating things, it might be an IS Omnimech.

Uh oh... erm what would be the pros and cons for the IS omnis? How tobalance that out? I know certain mechs like the Owens would suffer due to single heatsinks or something?

Mad Cat Mk II?
Nah I would prefer a new line of Vulture/ Mad Dogs MK II. Yeah pretty similar to the standard but with chin turrets! At least make center torso chin turret omnipods for each of the existing and possible upcoming hero mad dog for wave 2! If the Mk II gets a somewhat different look like this one below, then go for it.

Posted Image

Chin turret if movable should share the same targeting circle with the arms, if not movable make it share the crosshair with the other torso mounted weapons.

Occasional poster's guess -

IS Omnimechs + Possible timeline jump to include more weapons (like IS Streak 6s and IS ER Small/Medium Lasers, IS LBX 20s, etc. - mainly stuff that they can use existing game assets for and just rehash the values). Simple way to fuel more mechpacks - new(ish) weapons which don't need much effort to add into the game but add quite a bit more spice for the IS side.*

That would be my bet.

From a Clan pilot's point of view - I'd like that just for the opportunity to fall off my chair whilst howling in laughter the first time I come across a Strider in a MWO match. We got to witness the utter stupidity of the thing in MW3 - give us some more nostalgia please!
