The first wave went 12-1 in our favour, and it was clear this was going to be a stomp of the PUG enemy.
Now, I feel really bad for PUGs trying to get their 80 match score against organised opposition. I want them to get their 80 match points and event rewards. Hopefully, that will also help rebuild the FP population.
So I told the enemy team that I wanted to give them a free kill, and that I was going to a gate where they could kill me.
But when I got to the enemy gate, the enemy weren't there, so I walked toward their spawn, periodically telling them where I was.
And then I got abused. And reported. And told to STFU etc. By members of the enemy team that I was trying to help.
And the criticism continued, even after I literally went and stood in the middle of the enemy, not shooting, torso twisting so they could farm me for damage, until they killed me.
Weird, huh. And disappointing. I can only assume they thought I was being rude or something, even though I went to pains to explain why I was doing what I was doing, for their benefit.
For the next three Mechs I literally just walked straight into the enemy until I died, trying to give them some damage. I noticed at the end of the match that 4 enemies still didn't reach the required 80 match score
So, I dunno. Should I never do that again?
