This isn't a serious problem, and taking five to ten minutes on average to get a match I'm okay with. But sitting there watching what is essentially an extended loading screen is boring. Can't i at least look through the mech store while searching for a match? Just let me look at something other then that spinning load icon.

Anything... It's really.. really boring.

yeah, it's pretty much Alt+Tab, why isn't the search running in background while you can go to mechlab/mech store is weird

I highly recommend running in borderless window and browsing the web while you wait. Read the forums, check your emails, watch some anime... I know the few times I try to go play CW/FW I can get a.good 1-2 episodes in waiting.

That's a good idea cheers m8. I'll have to see if my computer runs MWO okay in borderless.

Edit; seems i am running in borderless windowed, is there a way to get the sound to play when i alt-tab out of MWO, so that i don't miss the match callout?

Not that I am aware of, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If you are able to run multi monitor you could do that, or do as I do and browse the internet on my phone or something (Even though I have multi monitor, I'm just really lazy sometimes). I agree that you should be able mess around in the mechlab or something while you wait, but whatever.

One of the running jokes within my circle of friends is that I'll always wait for a minute or two, but right when I decide to do something else the match always starts.

Not as far as I know, but I just run my internet browser in a window so I can glance over and see if anything is happening.

I have my task bar always up, not hiding

When I browse the net and a match loads I can see through the bar the game is loading and doing something

Though it's on Windows 10 with semi transparent theme
But I think the bar at the bottom is also blinking when it's loading a level

You could try playing as a light or medium instead of a heavy.
Heresy, I know, but the wait times are much shorter.

You make a valid point i could play another class of mech, if i can get enough ingame money. I'm kind of stuck with a King Crab at the moment. I don't think I'd be doing anyone a service if i took out a light mech. Those seem like they have a higher skill requirement.

Wow, so this isn't a tiering problem. I am actually quite glad you posted this, I thought I was one of the few people who play mobile phone games while trying to play this game.

Seems that this issue is affecting everyone. Having said this, the anticipation really makes me thirsty for war in the match.
