Funny, the same stuff people on World of Tanks said, and look now, they're having to rebuild their own game because they screwed up so massively on artillery.

Artillery was OP, and it ruined World of Tanks for me, and MWO is turning into the same thing.

Really? Despite the fact that everyone here has told you why you are wrong, you still seem to think that LRMs are broken? Lets list off the various counters to LRMs.

1. Radar Derp- say what you like, but this module singlehandedly hardcounters every form of lock-on weapon in game.

2. ECM- not quite as good as Radar derp, but a close second, and fairly common to boot.

3. AMS- Granted you need multiple of the thing, but it still will wreck LRMs.

4. Close quarter attacks- LRMs have a minimum range of 180 meters. Engage in that range, and they are helpless.

5. COVER- This most of all will stop an LRM boat dead in it's tracks. If you are being smart, dashing from cover to cover, they won't ever get the chance to lock on to you, let alone maintain it long enough to hit you.

This is a bad build as I said. You're very low on ammo, it will be hot and doesn't even have jump jets to move around. And I won't even start on artemis. Sure, you can lower the engine to make some room for more stuff but trust me you don't want to be slower than that in an lrm only catapult.

CPLT-A1

That speaks for itself right there, maybe not the build I had in mind, but a constant 6.93, almost 7 Damage, is more than enough to annihilate a mech, and then you run just 2 of those in a coordinated unit? You can annihilate anything that steps out.

are you saying when you're in the open, you rather be facing a hail of pin-point damage from weapons like gauss and lasers which can chew through your ct faster than you can say "o shi-"?

i suggest you build a lurmboat and test it out in a training map.

if you can kill a fresh marauder in 15 seconds using nothing but lurms, i'll buy you a mechpack.

edit: i'm serious. if you can, you get whatever mechpack you want. if you can't, you owe me any mechpack i want. put your money where your mouth is at.

And it will get eaten alive by anything that moves within 180 meters of it. Not to mention Light mechs and DDC Atlai, who would reduce that piece of junk to a wreckage faster than it's pilot can regret making it.

But is that module available to EVERY mech in game?

well, we're getting somewhere... but still a bad build. 2 of those and one little spider or locust will ruin your day. You have no BAP to counter any ECM, you have no Artemis to speed up lock times *and* reduce your spread and you still have no jumpjets. Heat is fine, tho.

But let me tell you, if you drop into group queue with two of those, you'll be humiliated. Ugly truth.

Yes, it is. Granted, modules are expensive, but once you have it it ruins LRMs.

Okay you have two major problems:
  • You suck at building mechs
  • You suck at playing mechs
How to fix it:
and stop whining

Good, wish I knew about that sooner...I usually never pay any attention to modules because of the expense AND the EXP Expense.

Funny, I suck at building mechs? I seem to come out every match in the Marauder-5D with 550+ Damage, I'd say I handle that mech fairly well for such a "horrible mech builder".

When me and my friend (new at the game) run those together, because he has one too, not much stands in our way, we can both alpha strike an Assault mech in the CT, and completely destroy his armor without overheating.

I rarely ever use the training maps, and if I do it's usually just Forest Colony or HPG Manifold.

Ok, listen. I'm not sure how much of a new player you are after more than a year but we all sucked at this game at first. It is no shame to accept some advice from players who know this game, its mechanics and every single value of every weapon inside out.
And if you can constantly (lol) do 550 Damage per match in that mech you shouldn't have any problem at all with a lurm boat. Especially not with a poor Cat A1.

you have 239 average match score on heavies on the leaderboards.

which means you're definitely not putting out 550+ damage every match. you're putting out quite a bit less than that.

and to answer the question that just popped into your head:

yes, we can all see your performance stats.

so tread carefully if you decide to exaggerate again.

If you're such a good pilot why the $%^& are you complaining about LRMs? You can't call yourself a good pilot and know nothing about LRMs.

Oh, unless you're a troll...

Oh here's he link to your stats: https://mwomercs.com...user=demarticus

That's because I've only been back for like...A week or 2, I started this game somewhere in 2015, and I was horrible then, because of having no patience, and not having a group to play with makes it even more difficult.

And really?...Tread carefully?...Sounds like a threat to me.

your claim of doing 550+ damage per game doesn't tally with your average match score.
how long you've been back does nothing to support your claim or refute my point.

tread carefully because when your stats are public knowledge, doing silly things like inflating your supposed damage output per match will make you an object of ridicule.

Well then AMS clearly needs a patch, I'm not saying this game is a Simulator, but the AMS is just a version of the Phalanx CIWS, and that thing NEVER misses a beat.

Had a friend work on them in Afghanistan, and he said they were used to shoot down Artillery Shells, RPG's, and generally any projectile the Radar would pick up, not sure how true that is, but I have seen video's of them firing, and they just absolutely light the sky up with a laser of Red Tracer rounds.

They can shoot down the low intensity fire that the Taliban put out but would have a hard time dealing with a massed artillery attack.

Thanks for the clarification, I figured with a mass Artillery Strike they'd have trouble keeping up with something so high velocity, but nice to know I was at least a little bit correct about it lol
