As we get closer to MECHCON and it's "special" mech I am starting to think more and more that it is an IS mech, either melee or Omni. We know also that January is a Light Battlemech (not omni). So what does that have to do with my topic? We could see three IS mechs back to back to back....Now, you can say "But silly Clanner you just got like 5 Mechs in a row!". True, however even I am upset a bit by this...I can imagine many IS pilots are frustrated, annoyed, and bored (more then usual) over seeing clan mech after clan mech...The same feelings I had over the unseens being released almost 5 in a row. It drove me from the game for several months actually.....PGI really needs to go to 1 to 1 releases for Clan and IS mechs, going every other month, none of this 3,4,5 in a row crap. So I hope I am wrong and some how MECHCON is a Clan mech followed by an IS in January!

TL:DR - PGI go to doing IS mechs and Clan mechs every other to each other, it hurts the game and community if not.

December better not be an IS mech!

PGI needs to just release the MK II already but hey they listen to their fans says Russ in the last town hall! I about died from laughter then puked in disgust because that's definitely a lie.

The trouble is that this new mech - whatever it is - has to have something new and potentially exciting. Different people will vary as to what they might consider 'exciting' in the context of the game we have at the moment.

If it were a clan mech, it would have to have some USP that hasn't already been done - something which is genuinely 'new'. Most of the current favourites are either omnimechs (done), IIC mechs (done), or non-IIC Battlemechs like the Mad Cat II (already done with the Kodiak/Supernova). A new mech from late 3050s with timeline jump technology - maybe - but I don't think PGI wants to unleash heavy lasers and RACs onto the servers just yet....

My bet is on IS omnimechs - either a single mech pack or a combined collection like the Clan Waves or Resistance collections.

I just hope that "Mechcon big announcement" that is gonna blow us all away, isn't just another mech pack..

Cose' that could very well ******* away... from the pilot roster..

This game has too many mechs and not enough maps to put them on or game modes to use them in..

Mechcon won't be just s big event to announce Just a mech. But yes, they will announce one there. They won't stop 1 mrch a nnth releases cause that is what pays a majority of this game, this does not infringe on other developments either being mechs are a separate department pretty much to maps, game modes, balance ect. We are not going to see mech packs stopped anytime soon. If they fid they would stop all other development cause loss of income.

There is already a lot more done to hobble the game and hurt the community beyond just releasing 1 to 1 mechs. Those are too far numerous to count.

That's like saying "Eh, there are too many rats I'm my house, I shouldn't bother killing the one gnawing on my food right in front of me."

Yeah I am with you. I am betting it is a IS Omnimech. The only other new thing would be quads and I just don't think they would go that far.

Wait, how do we know January's light announcement is going to be a Battlemech? Reference needed. Also, who says that it being a battlemech means it will be an IS mech? Reference needed.

Either way, I don't care if we go IS-IS-Clan-Clan etc.. in the grand scheme of things it's not a huge deal. We will see. Mechcon is only what, 2 weeks away?

Another terrifying prospect... what if "something we've never done before" means that they made up a chassis.... God I hope not.

Something they've never done before.

If it isn't obvious, the closer #MechCon gets, the more apprehensive I become.

Also, might as well put this here:

MW2 favorite: Hellbringer [x]
MW3 favorite: Sunder [ ]
MW4 favorite: Mad Cat Mk. II [ ]
MC2 favorite: Blood Asp [ ]

Make it happen PGI. Those are my favorite mechs spanning almost 3/4 of my life.

I just think they need to announce 'Mechs much closer to their release date. We now have pre-orders up for 'Mechs that we won't see until March. Frickin' March! It's ridiculous.

IS Omnis are problematic, especially the early ones (read start of production before 3060)....

Okay Early IS Omnis:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Raptor
http://www.sarna.net...i/Black_Hawk-KU
http://www.sarna.net...jack_(OmniMech)
http://www.sarna.net...rter_(OmniMech)

Requires work Early IS Omnis:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Arctic_Fox
http://www.sarna.net...atar_(OmniMech)
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sunder
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Perseus

Bad Early IS Omnis:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Owens
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Strider

Things get better at generation 2 (3060-3070) and by the time Generation 3 (3100+) rolls around they are well designed.

Eh, I think the Sunder at least belongs in Okay. I think the BJ-O actually belongs in Requires Work. It has good payload, but that Assault-slow XL engine and Medium-level armor are going to be absolutely brutal on it.

Ironically the model looks practically done for that guy. How many months does it take to animate and pattern the mechs? But yeah, I agree, 'twould be nice if they could speed it up. Also... stretch goal... they should release a Clan and IS light together.

Raptor and Locust IIC together is my dream package. Would also swap Lolcust for Dasher.

Wait, have the mods threatened you? Have the image wars began already? Is that the surprise announcement at MechCon, that the forums wont allow for gifs anymore? Am I next in the Great MWO Image Poster Purge?
