I love Assaults, maximum firepower and especially DaKKA. So I was almost certain I was going to get my wallet out to buy the UltraViolent, but is it good for anything?

I decided to try 6 UAC2s first and Even with the buff, I found 6 so underwhelming, AND you barely have enough tonnage for 6 let alone 8. So it seems having 8 is just not a good loadout?

8 machine guns is also pretty useless besides the lol factor I'm guessing.

The UAC nerf Combined with the LRM buff i cant believe this but it seems Im over the Dire-wolf.

Really, no. Just got mine. It got some interesting quicks but only if you use stock build, as with the other DW chassi.

So in the end its just another DW version with cbill boost, unless you are completely crazy to try 8x CUAC2, wich i found to be underperforming as well as the 6x version.

Edited: Also, you've got some strange color scheme in the camo where you can't get the color you want. You do it all black it becomes black and blue, and so on. I cannot get my signature black and red color set no matter what i do, it becomes black, some weird red....and pink.

Edit 2: For the direwolf, dakka is now almost ruined.

Sorry, I have to point something out:

"voilent" means cruel, savage, brutal.

However the color between blue and red is called "violet", hence the DWF hero is dubbed "ultraviolet" (https://mwomercs.com/clan-heroes)

No, I'm not an arrogant native speaker. I learned english as a second language in school and by games and movies.

Flame me if you must, but I just wished people would understand that sloppy communication makes it harder for the reader to understand the message and is therefore unsocial. It's NOT the guy pointing out the sloppiness who is unsocial. It's the sloppy guy himself who makes life unnecessary harder for all his readers.

Thank you for your understanding.

PS:
Although I must admit "Ultraviolent" has a kind of funny side for a Hero Battlemech. :-D

Yeah, i'm am aware that violet is one of the secondary colors found between red and blue in the RGB system, along with purple and what have you.

It should not prevent you from getting the color you want though. If only it was some nice shining glossed effect like cobra or jade falcon but no, its only a color you cannot change.

And no need to flame, you did must of the unnecessary flaming here so we got it covered, Mr. Native Speaker. -)

Edited: When you do it all black with white stripes, it becomes green in some parts. Now that is not expected from a "violet based" mech i believe.

Thus he shall be known henceforth by two (well deserved) titles:

1. Paigan, the unworthy grammar n*zi

2, Paigan, the unnecessary flamer.

Concerning camo spec:

I've been taking a deeper look into it, and is indeed a nice effect. I've made my peace with it. -)

In the current state of the game no DWF is worth buying atm, imho. Too slow, gameplay too dynamic.

Not slopyness and not a typo... It was an intended play on words, but I didn't realise people would not see the obvious. Am I really the FIRST person in the world to call it UltraViolent? Why on Earth would I call a direwolf the UltraViolet when I can call it the UltraViolent.

For example I have never called the Yellow Wang anything other than a Yellow Wang.

Lb 10-X is known as LBX10. etc...

Against fresh opponents, any number of AC/2s are mostly going to be suppression weapons. Late game though you will find they're decent for mopping up and getting in the coup de grace because of the higher RoF.

The AC/2 builds tend to work better with on faster mechs though because they can get in to position to take advantage of damaged mechs easier.

I had a blast (ha) in my Ultraviolet last night. Started with 8x UAC-2 and 11 tons of ammo, but quickly found that to be too hot, at least without double basics. Swapped to 8x LBX-2s and went to town with respectable 500-600 damage matches and one where I managed to run out of ammo for 1055. The spread sucks, and Kodiaks will laugh at your attempts to facetank them, but heaven help you if your armor is open anywhere.

i like mine. its pretty badass. many many games over 500, broke 1000 twice, and thats like a once every 3 months kind of thing for me.

lots of people are making the mistake of running 8 uac2s, thats too damn hot, so i put in 4, and 4 lb2s. heat is manageable now. ive only run out of ammo once, and that was on one of my 1000+ point games. if you are running out of ammo, drop one gun and add another 5t ammo or a couple backup weapons.

The biggest problem I have with uac2s is they are unsatisfying to use. They are kind of like a sporadic laser with a dying battery requiring constant clicking and a lot of face time for inconsistent results.

What I always like most about clan UAcs is the burst nature, and UAC2s were fun to use when they had a 2 burst shot, but since they went to NO burst even though this was seen as a buff I absolutely hated it. I like the Unleashing effect of the clan UACS and after the burst reduction only ac10 and 20 felt "bursty" enough

HEY PGI why didn't you just increase the burst am mount again instead of nerfing annoying jam chances...

500-600 in a Dire is not that respectable for a non ppfld build, A locust can consistently pull that.
