Still running light mechs. Still running circles around most other players. No matter what you do to the game, a potato will still be a potato.

Lights stats
Season 1: W/L 2-0 Kills-1 Deaths-1
Season 2: W/L 0-1 Kills-0 Deaths-1
Season 3: no stats
Season 4: no stats
Season 5: no stats

TL;DR, cool story bro

Lights are objectively the worst weight class. Just FYI, potato status is irrelevant.

I mainly play lights and mediums and think their realtive size is right post re-scale.
And by right i mean that Heavies objectivly should be the best/most effective class for skirmish.

Now, if I wanted everyone to know my alt, I'd go around posting on THAT, wouldn't I? And c'mon... don't be "that guy." There's a special circle of hell designated especially for the guy who plays the stat card in entirely unrelated conversations. I'm sure you're better than that.

Technically there's a special place in hell that involves farming baby seals in a new/alt account too. The unicorns won't tell though.

Indeed, though alt accounts certainly have other wonderful uses... such as allowing you to remain in a Clan loyalist unit while also spending time in their sister IS merc unit. Though my unit's somewhat recent decision to abandon loyalty and go full merc has largely made this moot of late. It also allows you to engage in ridiculously small PTS samplings with some level of anonymity, which is quite nice. If all I wanted was to club seals, I could just play FP with my unit-mates. ;)

The fan boys of volumetric rescale had thier achivement: the dead of light mechs.

The volumetric rescale was only a bait: killing those mechs they weren't able to kill.

#PGIPLZKILL'EMFORME

ALTHOUGH TO BE FAIR... the first rescale pass was to be used to buff or at least reduce some heavy/light. We all assumed they were going to balance the game/mech with the rest of the rescaling... "DENIED!". What we got was maximum effort with illogical, locked across all shapes, volume... well fk.

To be more fair, the problem of the rescale are the mech like the lct that got noobie small and the pult who got the size and height of a mech 25 ton smaller and the 35 tonners height. Lights getting bigger is fine, considering the alpha damage they can output, and it would be a hell of a lot more FINE if 3/3/3/3 was enforced and a small agility buff would certainly be welcome.

Another great example of PGI developing something while observing radio_silence with great success.

Disagree.
First because bigger targets are easier to hit and lights have the lowest amount of armor: thier alpha mean nothing: when a light is dead, is dead.
Second because introducing reality (volumes) in an arcade videogame is stooooopid because it can bring bad results: light are dead.

Result: lights are dead now, since there is not roles such as scout, recon. etc. but skirmish only, where big weaponry and big armor count.

I and others have foresee volumetric rescale as a big nerf to lights far before it went live, so the truth is there: the ones wanting the volumetric rescale were the ones who don't care a rat about lights and the ones who weren't able to aim them.

PGI didn't care about: they made happy 90% of playerbase, as light pilots were very few even before the rescale.

The vulture at least appears to have gotten smaller...it used to be as tall as my warhawk. But a lot of the justifications for the rescales or quirk changes seem very odd to say the least.

Here's a great example :

Quote

Summoner Design Notes: While the Summoner isn't exactly seeing wide use these days, our internal data nonetheless shows the chassis putting up consistently high numbers even before the recent release of the two new variants. For now, we are making only minor adjustments to its existing Quirks, and will continue to observe the performance of this chassis as more data becomes available from the recently-released variants. If things do not 'level out', more Quirk adjustments will be considered for the future.

Most people would conclude that the reason a chassis/variant isnt widely use is because its underpowered and whatever high numbers it has are the result of vets using it in casual matches in the public queue. Somehow PGI decides it means that its balanced instead.

The disconnect with reality never fails to amaze me.

I'd say lights are in trouble if they're dependent on potato opposition for survival. Today I saw a Wolfhound for the first time in weeks and I said out loud "Are you serious?" The thing is massive.

Smh. The Summoner has been a boss for a while--it's just been stuck with a bad rep because everyone gauged it against Timbys and Ebons and wanted it to play the same way. When played to its strengths it is fantastic. The new loyalty omnipods actually put it near the top of the Clan heavies (I would say it's the top Clan heavy for certain builds).
