Now that you've called our attention to them, yes.

As a completely unrelated matter, I'm now swearing off both comms and practice.

Why do you think it's OK to disadvantage everyone else because you choose to play when your wife is sleeping?

Better look in a mirror Mr. Selfish.

So you are an optimal performer. Able to shut down your RL for the whole playtime?

Then I hope you are playing best mechs with best possible weapon optimisation for each map, so you do not hurt your team.

I hope your gaming machine runs at least i7-6700k and gtx 1080 with lowest graphical settings ingame to eleminate fps drops, because they hurt your performance, so you become a burden for your team.

Same with Internet connection. I hope you can offer at least 200 mbits down- and 50 mbits upsteam because, you know, lag and high ping (everything higher then 10) hurt your team.

Your concentration should be top everytime, so drink much redbull and eat at least every 5 minutes some glucose to keep top level... And hey... I hope you wear nappies while playing, because preassure on you bladder could hurt your performance...

Joking aside... There are a lot of reasons to disable voip. If you want to avoid it, search an organised group to play with (In this case you will probably disable your voip to communicate with your mates over skype/TS...). I play without voip, because 90% of my playtime is while my wife and child are sleeping (watch for a pattern...) and because of those serious tacticians yelling rude nonsence commands at their mates 20% of the time and mouthbreathing all the other time... Not fun for me sorry. But hey I am a Tier 3 noob with ~2 month game XP... so I simply have no Idea how to play this game serious...

So blacklist me please.

4chan ?? really ?? now that would be some seriously screwed up stuff ... at least that had cute lil bunnies and butter flies.

the 4chan stuff would have had the bunnies inverted using the ponies eyesocket as a joy toy while the buggieboos ... well you get the picture.

I have non-anime-gif versions of this, but I never expected to have a reason to post one of these here, so for once I'm unprepared.

In desperation in an attempt to play with people who actually communicate in PUG matches, I'm trying out a system where, if players on a team either have no mic/VOIP enabled and/or do not communicate, I place them all on my block list after the match so as to avoid winding up being placed on non-communicating (and thus losing) teams. Hopefully this will increase my chances of having team mates who communicate and have the ability for teamwork.

Does anyone know if there are limits to the size of the player blocklist, as I'm certain mine will get YUGE!

As has been said, blocked players will still be matched with you the only thing blocking does is prevent communication with/from them.

Ironicly your initiative to increase the odds of playing with team mates that communicate is only reducing the number of players who may communicate by blocking them.

Hello fellow MechWarrior Online player by the name of BlueStrat.

I have read your post about how you think you can solve your problems by blocking people who do not communicate.

Excuse me while I laugh like a maniac.
Ha. Haha.
Now that I have recovered from my uncontrollable laughter, I am going to crush your dreams by introducing you to reality.
Your attempts will not, and never will, bear any fruit.

Now that I have crushed your dreams and left you crying in a puddle of your own tears and pee, let me ask you something.

Do you truly believe people should be forced to use voice communication in a Quick Play match, which is, as the name already states, meant for quick matches without having to go through the effort to find a group of people to play a match with and thus get into a match with other strangers who play the game as they want to play it?

If your answer is no, then you deserve a pat on the back, you good sport.
If your answer is yes, then you will sadly have to face reality, where you will have to accept the fact that you're nothing more than an elitist and you should stop your crusade of excluding people in a casual environment, which is Quick Play, from communicating with you, even though it doesn't do much, if not anything at all, if they are already not talking and you should stop giving them bad names. Or you're just simply new to the online environment because, let's face it, the lack of VOIP communication in games where Quick Play is a thing is as common as finding sand in a desert

You can either move on and accept the fact you're being an elitist here by telling people off for playing the way they want and not how you want them to, or admit you're just being a troll here, because in all honesty, I can't take your posts seriously without facepalming

TL;DR:
Hahahahahahahaha!

The biggest reason I don't play factions/CW is that you need to pilot all weight classes to drop. I can't pilot light 'mechs effectively enough to bother with as I play on a potato (but a potato w/voice-comms!) that averages 15-17 FPS in-game (low FPS makes mixing it up in a light look like a slide-show) and can't afford new hardware as I'm disabled and on medical disability/fixed-income. Even faster mediums are problematic, so I drive heavier mediums, heavies, and assaults exclusively.

As far as people not being able to afford a mic, I couldn't afford one either, so I ripped apart some old audio electronics junk I scavenged-up and salvaged a raw, bare, dynamic mic element and wired it up to a 1/8th-inch mini-plug I also salvaged to connect to my PC. It lays on top of my keyboard hanging off a couple wires. *That's* how important I feel communication is in this game.

Just trying to help find a place for your playstyle and that appears to be Group Queue.

Still, rest of my advice stands; find like minded players and join that Unit asap! You want teamwork, coordination, cooperation, joining a group that wants the same thing is your answer.

The standard PUG reply of; I dont have the time to commit to a Unit is just BS and an excuse. Most Units are not regimental like that. There IS a place for you and your playstyle, you are just going to have put forth some serious effort to find those players like you. Once you do, and they ARE here in MWO, your experiences, Win or Loose, will be better because at the core you are playing with a team and hopefully soon friends.

I totally get your desire to ignore those that do not communicate in a team game, I really do. Been there myself, not up to ignoring people, but frustrated none the less. However, as some here have no so elegantly pointed out, you are doing yourself a disservice by ignoring a vast majority of the population in QP. Honestly, you should stop. Focus your efforts into finding that Unit that likes to play the way you do, as a Team.

Everyone else, serious question;

Don't we want people playing MWO? Don't we want people to play MWO as the way they want to? Standard pugtard reply is; "it's just a game and games are to be fun", for some pretty shi**y behavior. This guys fun is working with a Team and all that entails. We should support and encourage this!

Sure, post could have been done better. In the end this is a Team game with 2 out of 3 queues FOR teams.

Sure, you are right, we want more player.
But the problem with BlueStrat is his own intolarance to a big part of the com.
He want a team play.
But don't wanna use the possibility to play in a team the game offers.
So he tries to enforce HIS kind of rules to players in the queue for PUGs...
When people say why they do not use VOIP he brings no understanding to them but expects understanding why he is not use LFG... this is not how comunity works...

PS: While reading your text and writing this, I see... I have overreacted. Sorry to BlueStrat if my text hit you... but still, things you write and try to enforce are not OK.

Because it's not like everyone has a working headset or a mic right now.
It's not like you can earn C-bills money by breaking some random's person's arm on the street to get yourself some mic.
It's not like people don't have anxiety or are confident enough with talking to other people online or anything.
It's not like I'm playing MWO at 3 AM, with some probably being drunk (I don't drink) that would be very distracting to everyone on the team.
It's not like I'm depressed as hell, having a really bad day and just wanna play some MWO without wanting to deal with others at the moment
It's not like the house is in total chaos with doors banging, lots of shouting and things breaking that people could hear over the mic or anything
It's not like I'm having trouble with speaking english with a really hard to understand accent or anything~

Just saying OP, not everyone has the luxury to confidently talk over VOIP without worrying about anything other than your game.

I've dropped in group-que probably a bit over a dozen times.

Each and every time it was a ROFLstomp by CW/faction groups dominating the que.

No thanks.

I see this forum community is toxic and greets attempts to work around problems with the game with poisonous vitriol.

I'll leave the keyboard pilots to feast on their own.

Congrats! You've convinced yet another player that this game isn't worth spending money on.

Let's put this in perspective - You started a thread about trying to exclude people from your team because they wouldn't play the game your way and you thought they were detrimental to the team.

Hilariously, most of the people you were trying the block due to not being team players were almost certainly better then you and adding more to the team effort then you were. But that's something else.

You've played, what, 500 games? And a single thread has somehow managed to sway your opinion? Perhaps, just maybe, the game wasn't very wallet enticing to you to begin with.

No, we shouldn't.

He advocated for excluding people from a F2P game based on optional hardware. While the response may not have been friendly, let's not pretend OP is some shining beacon of inclusiveness.

Damn... MWO playerbase is becoming younger it seems.... and more potato.

Weak player (demonstrably so), with an angry, intolerant OP that doubly illustrates he doesnt actually know how one of the facets of the game he is bitching about, decides to rage quit when called out for his boorish behavior and blames it on the community for pointing it out. Hilarious sense of sekf entitlement ya have there OP.

The only reason I am sad to see you go is, during a match I would assuredly he farming c bills off of your charred components.

Relook what YOU are doing and fix that first. Stop slamming the community over whether or not they want to use a facet of the game or not. Or should people be required to only play the objectively best mechs in queue, with meta approved load outs too?

Btw, is your RL name Felicia?
