Im kinda hardwired to make the most of the stock pods on any omnimech, only swapping out pods for testing on a spare config/ variant. I run 4 x UAC 10 + 4 x ersml for backup on my UV. Nowhere near the dps of that 8 x UAC 2, so its more of a first strike, heavy pounder instead of a suppresser.

It took me a bit of tweaking, and the recent heat reduction on ac2 fire helped, but the build can now fire pretty much indefinately, even on maps like Terra Therma and Tourmaline. It's very comfortable overall, I rarely get the low ammo warning, and have yet to go below 40-50 ammo remaining.
The idea of 8 ac2 has me wondering however. Is that extra 8 damage every 1.2 odd seconds really worth the 1 ton less overall ammo, heat efficency, projectile velocity, and most importantly, the 1100-1200 meter pinpoint zoom the t-comp offers?
For me, the "ultraviolent" offers 2 additional cannons, but none of the extras that makes the build concept really excel. It's all about the damage, I guess. Is that a trade worth $25?

Oh I actually tried that one, but the spread was kind of annoying past 500m or so. I felt like the pellets missed a lot.

I think so if you have the spare funds.

It can work but I like the burst damage on the UAC2s. I think the only way the DWF really works though is you can take out enemies quickly and the UACs do it more effectively imo.

If you have 6 ballistic slots, go with the 2xUAC10 3xUAC5 build. You need to boat a lot of UAC2s to make it worthwhile. Also consider that the HBK-IIC can already mount 4 of them, doubling the weight but adding just 2 is kind of a waste imo.

Just noticed Majestic did it.
I usually don't watch him regularly. because... I suppose one has to be American to enjoy excited shouting.
But anyway.
Unfortunately everything happens in rather close range so one cannot judge how it behaves on mid-long, where you criticised the spread. I'd be more concerned about the lower projectile velocity compared to UAC2s.
Anyone knows Mechs where one could try something similar without buying a real money Mech?
There won't be another 8 ballistic slots, ofc, but still something similar?

Maybe this? http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1e3322d9eb269bf
Gauss and UAC2 velocities sync. Plus Gauss generates near-zero heat.

I’m wondering if in the new skill will still require 3 variants for access to higher skills.
