Simple..

When everyone on one "team" dies, end of match. So it doesn't work well in Private.

1. people form groups naturally as a consequence of interacting with each other.
2. groups lead to teams
3. eventually as teams are formed,the free for all becomes "who's turn is it to win this round"
4. teams make free for all not possible.

free for all wouldn't allow teams to enter as teams, so unless sync dropping works really well.......
