Fine examples of the good they do, and it was a good idea for PGI to hire them.

However...

In my time on this game, I've seen Bombadil engage the community once: before the roundtable. Sean Lang never. Not in my time at least.

Hanging out over at their twitch site and claiming to be community managers is problematic.

In my time, what they've done more than once is stand in for the community and, in so doing, accept Russ's ideas on behalf of the community. This is even more problematic.

I think you are placing on ngng the onous that really is on Pgi. Phil and daeron are really mediators and contractors. Their main job is to make the interactions happen. They've done that successfully in the sense that they created events where everyone showed up. After that it's really up to Russ and Pgi to steer the dynamics. Ngng has to be diplomatic lest things get really awkward for them.

If Russ wanted more interaction as opposed to him bolivating, he could have driven that.

So, my view on this is ngng is doing a good job. It's really Pgi and Russ that have to be open to listening to the community.

The "Hunt or be Hunted" or whatever event it was called was without a doubt the worst event I've seen so far in this game. I could not pilot my Huntsman and enjoy myself a majority of the time during that entire event. I found an effective build (4 ERMLs & U/AC10) and then... The U/AC nerf which subsequently made carrying single U/ACs absolutely pointless.

I love my Huntsman, and I won't degrade them by turning them into twin PPC poptarts, but brawling isn't wise since it suffers ginormous CT syndrome. Oh well I suppose. Back to piloting meta Warhammers and uninspired PPFLD builds.

Am I the only one here who quite enjoyed the Huntsman challenge in my Huntsman?

Wheat, chaff, islands... those are just words, Sir Restos the Third.

Oh, and by the way. I hereby knight you. Congratulations. Yes. I have the authority. Yes, with the title you get some property, it's on the island.

Hmmmm... property? Clan Diamond Shark usually doesn't deal with that business, due to the market crash of 3046. Time to pull out one of our old emergency guides.

Sir Restos the Third, I thought of something. Why haven't you or another member of Clan Diamond Shark simply bought the license and create their own Battletech game where yours is the most powerful Clan, won Earth, etc? Your Clan has already bought off the Fourth Wall to gain this knowledge... and somehow it was imparted to me, 500 MC later...

I hadn't seen it, and it's to date, the most common sense, factual as much as it can be from a player, and fair thing written ( written o.O spoken about durr ! ) about F.W and in essence the game.

Thanks Dane.

Greatest video about MWO every! And I can say I have been around for a lot of it ... started in March 2013, and while Dave had mentioned a lot of things PGI has done in that time other than fixing CW. I will state those things have been minute band-aids on keeping the community around.

We have devices that allow us to look past the Fourth Wall, but sadly there are basic functions of the universe that prevent alteration of said universe. Here is a good example of what happens.

Your anime gifs suddenly make a lot more internal sense if they're how you or others peer beyond the veil to Universe B.

What I'm surprised about at this point is that other players are still surprised about PGI's conduct when all you need to do is just look at their history.

The only thing I'm surprised about as far as PGI is Russ actually bothering to tell any of his customers anything at all about anything, and the only thing he has to say is "we are definitely not involved any longer with our publisher, whom we threw under the bus to defend ourselves, but we're not demonstrably any better now than when IGP was involved so that means our faults are and have been our own."

Real nice.

Hey Russ,

Please go easy on anyone involved. This thread has stirred up a hornets nest, but tension is high and that's just natural in the weeks before a con.
