What's Your Theory On The Moronically Lopsided Placement Of Domination Circles On Some Maps?

That advantage has existed as long since the mode was invented.
What's your theory on why the developer of the game hasn't changed the placement of the circles on those maps in all this time?

All players always rush somewhere center
Wanna create different play?
Put it somewhere else
deluxe edition; it's in one of 3 randomised but balanced places
On to why those 2?
I think for every change in coding PGI needs a load of telemetry or people screaming at Russ in twitter for a change
Coding is PGI's Achilles heel
If it has to do with coding a feature takes months
If it's an art department issue it gets taken care of fast enough
Moving circle, coding work
Guess Russ doesn't see the payoff (just like the JJ explanation, taking a month of testing/putting into patch something something)

I have absolutely no theory.
I mean, for example take the Alpine Peaks map. I can hardly remember when we started on the norther side and lost. Moving spawn points and the domination circle would require no actual map modifications, but just a simple coordinates edit.
Why PGI refuses to do that ...
I gues that this is going to stay a mystery of the same kind as the Bermuda Triangle mystery.

You can't come up with one better, even if you would move the spawn points a bit?
It's not like you have to have the spawn locations fixed and only move the circle

Well if the rumours about the L.D not playing his game are true, then utter ignorance.
If they are just forum porkies, utter stupidity.
What else can they be ?
Though I'm sure this thread will go on for pages and pages now arguing about the obvious.

Crimson: the city in the middle of the map.
Alpine: you move the circle so that the advantaged side can no longer be in the circle while standing behind a mountain.

I would be against MRBC having alpine Dom in there unless it was the first drop. It would be borked in the higher weight drops from one side for sure.

PGI dev#1- "So uh, where we going to put the domination circles in this new game mode?"
PGI dev#2- "HAHA John your so funny! Just turn the quirk dartboard around and have Bobo throw a few darts! Tada!"

Some of the maps are debatable, but there's at least one where there is, without a doubt, a huge side bias on Domination - Alpine Peaks.
But then again, Alpine Peaks is just a crap map for anything other then Conquest. Skirmish is 'Who gets bored camping on their teams hill first,' and the locations on Assault are so far apart that the only strategy is to form a power train and hope you hit the enemy before you pass the 'Can't get back to base in time to stop one light from capping' point.

- Total apathy.
PGI doesn't realize how important stuff like this is. They know it's imbalanced, but they'll let it brew for 2-3 years before changing objective locations. - Ignorance.
They've read somewhere that a deliberate imbalance in maps will create a fun dynamic. So they make maps unbalanced on purpose, because they believe this leads to lots of action and good gameplay. While this may be true in some cases, it's not necessarily true (ref: stairs on Viridian Bog). And indeed, all the most popular maps in MWO are the most symmetrical ones.

DICE learned this lesson with the Battlefield games the hard way.

Sheeez.....
In all seriousness it's mind boggling that they haven't done anything about the circle jerk in domination. Then again how many other times have we seen PGI literally take YEARS to fix a small issue?
At this point you have to look at 3 possible explanations;
1. It can't be done with the current engine.
2. It can't be done with the current talent.
3. They don't give a cr@p.
Pick any one..it still stinks.

If only the circle wasnt already in the same fkin place that every other skirmish fight happens/!!! if youre not gona make it random then place it somewhere else.
