Wouldn't it be nice to meet the people who program the game?
(and I do understand that mech modellers and such are programmers)

Hi,
How are you,
Yes I like working for P.G.I. Russ, Paul are great guys,
Did I say I like working for P.G.I ?
So I don't know why anyone would want to talk to them, on anything more than an aquaintance level, unless they were looking to work their.
The kind of questions a lot of people want answered, simply won't get answered

If I was going, I know I would. I know nothing about coding, but I'd genuinely be interested in what their average day is like working for PGI, figuring out how difficult it is working with the mess of an engine they have currently, and generally just chatting with people working on a Mechwarrior title. That, and I'd find some way to hunt down Mark and give him one of those electronic picture frames, but with an anime gif in it.

If I could go I wouldn't mind talking about the art-y end of things. No way is a mech modeler going to know anything about actual code as 3d work is an art job and not programing job unless they have been cross trained or a side interest in programing. As an artist myself I like talking and seeing other artists' ways and thoughts on how to do things. I'd love to see an animation panel on how they do the cycles on mechs and a demo in max/maya or whatever program they use for their animation.
The wc winners I'd just say well done on their team work. I've watched a very few wc videos on youtube. The real informative panels would be mostly hbs for me.

Why do you think that the big party piece of CW phase 3 was to paste in unmodified Long Tom code that wasn't good enough to be put in the game in 2012/2013?

If by this you mean the people that wrote the old FASA Battletech, I'd like to ask them how drunk they were when they thought up the clans, and if they appreciate how the franchise crashed and burned after their introduction. Every interest that takes up this IP must struggle with incorporating that munchkin bullsh*t to this day.

"Why can't you guys implement ammo switching for LBX Autocannons?"
"They guy who wrote the original code for it left. He didn't comment any of it."

I've heard the 'we don't have that programmer any more' bit. Is this an actual quote?

most likely not; Taken out of context perhaps; Or made up, which is common on these forums.
