I simply play this game as log as I enjoy it (and I enjoy it alot). The best way to not get salty is to ignore those MWO-armageddon threads and simply enjoy the game.

This still is probably the best Mechwarrior game to date, not many companies would be up to making a game this in depth these days (aka most would just go the Mechassualt path...) If PGI and MWO goes belly up, we probably won't get another Mechwarrior game ever again, specially if any other studio see's how this community had a way of biting the hand that feeds them!

That's some nice flawed logic there.

Considering how much money this game (and HBS) has made by appealing to nostalgia, there are plenty of developers that would jump on the cash train.

I'm not salty, just disappointed. I honestly do believe, or at least did at one point, that PGI deserved the benefit of the doubt and a chance to prove themselves. We haven't gotten much in the way of new content aside from mechs and maps, and yes, I know that it's time intensive to make even a small rock so an entire mech with all its animations and a brand new map, even if recycled, will require a lot of time and care, and they do apply that, but the gameplay is stagnant.

PGI still displays a total obliviousness to what the players actually want or how to balance this game, their Community Manager(s), and yes there's more than one, don't seem to actively address the community leading to multiple PR disasters and it seems to me, at least, that while the people actually making this game truly love and care for the series, they're held back by the guys at top who simply don't know what to do and have doomed themselves with this franchise. They can never escape it, nor can they sustain it indefinitely. When MW:O dies, so to does PGI as it is now.

Gotta love people who claim that this is the best mechwarrior game on the market ... considering it is the only mechwarrior game on the market. Kinda hard to argue that.

Then, doesn't that technically make it simultaneously the best and the worst, and thus it averages out to mediocre™?

the old ones still exist, so youc na always play them. and MW:LL is also still running. These games are not like a MMO which when no one hosts a server are gone.

Maybe. But now I simply enjoy the game, try to help other newbes, and contribute a bit here in forum without get poisoned by the mood in general subforum...

Look at newbe subforum. A lot of kind people, trying to help without blaming PGI and MWO. This kind community there encouraged me to play this game more. While general forums is all about flaming PGIs Game. This does not cause positive feelings and desire to start MWO to play...

The Mechwarrior/Battletech community was here long before PGI, and it will be here long after. Those of us who have been through a lot probably know what we're talking about. The mood could be better but relationships fail for a reason. Especially when one of the members of that relationship constantly disappoints.

There's two ways people can take when they don't like the state of the game:

Salt.

Or leave.

I chose #2, there's that. now get off the salt trains and go play another game. make yourself happy, it'll do you and others a favor of not having to hear the toxicity that you brew.

Wowzers. I had forgotten how much this Forum thinks of themselves. So the Forum will Referendum and ALL will fold if ALL its demands are not met this Saturday? Just wow... really...

That's ALL a bit EXTREME. My DEMANDS are quite OPEN. FURNISHED and FINISHED by the end of JANUARY.

NOT a lot of PLANS and PROMISES, especially if MY MECH MONEY is ONLY used FOR NEW MECHS and the rest is DIVERTED to SOMETHING ELSE.

Seriously, the salt levels lately are way to high....I get it PGI has hurt you in the past...the game is not this super spectacular AAA title (the one I guess we were promised?). But honestly we are at this point where every other drink we have is over salted water (the other for some is a shot of something strong)

Anyway, if the forums were a person, our blood pressure would be way off the safe scale. We need to seriously get off the high sodium foods/drinks.

I get some disappointment and venting is common, but there is no reason to get this salty ovet a game....Specially with Mechcon here in 3 to 4 days. Let's try to lower our sodium in take guys here over this holiday season?

I do agree. Generally speaking people are overly salty but I think it's the result of bitter and salt coming together. It's been worse but this is fairly bad.

I used to be more enthusiastic but I feel like mwo is hardly moving forward at all. Map revamps, conveyor belt of mechs, occasional balance passes & decals are cool and all but this game needs new spices, new flavors. That means new weapons & equipment, new modes, fixing weapons and modes that are unloved, etc.

Oh boy (without jugging about your real age)

it would be sad if in the newb forum there would be salt. But here in the GD its the norm.
And we all had our enthusiasm, most of us vets brought a dozen or more players into MWO. How many remain?
Well I believed to often that things will change - and if they change then only towards the negative.

MWO is ok if you don't expect anything - and if you are able to forgive the CO.

To be fair to the playerbase and PGI, Derek ruined his own experience by flying too close to the sun.

I guess I am too, but I could play this game without forums. Many I never even join.

I would never stay or leave a game because of other players unless I was being abused in-game.

Not happened here or elsewhere.

Lol, CK16 you mad man. You just increased the salt levels to maximum overdrive. Besides, else are we going to ventilate our anger and think we are self entitled snowflakes that deserve a flawless niche franchise video game counterpart? Posted Image

I think the only ones that really have any right in being bitter vets and having their voices being heard are the original founders that thought this game was going to go somewhere. I've never spent more than $20 in any FTP game in my steam library, Since most ftp games are minimally viable products to begin with. If you don't like what PGI is doing, then simply stop giving them your hard earned money. It's not the end of the world for the Battletech franchise. There will be others to pick up from where they left off.

Besides, there is always Mechwarrior: Living Legends that recently returned from the ashes. It's free, the mech list is solid, you can add camo paint jobs (for free), AND it has tanks, vtols, aircraft, elementals, etc.

don't be. you don't generate as much volatile talk as much as some do around here. you know who you are. some are gone, and others still lurk. some even play the game at one point. Wrath was part of his name, some of you remember him. he was last seen playing 4 months ago. since then not a single sight of him.

I leave on my own terms. if I choose to not play a game because there's not enough content being generated and I have what I want, played to my heart's content on what was in the game, only to come to the forums to here people keep complaining about the same things for 3-4 years, then yes, that's more than likely to send someone away to play elsewhere for awhile. and that someone was me this time.

Not really. rather I broke a connection by flying one of their flagships into the Sun. there's a difference.
