I don't mind non-canonical mechs but getting them when we are already yammering for canon mechs seems kinda stupid. We are pretending to follow the lore timeline but butchering the actual lore? You literally can't have your cake and eat it too in this situation and between clutching the timeline and making up timeline friendly mechs id go with loosening up on the death grip of the timeline instead. Especially when you obviously can't emulate battletechs timeline and events otherwise faction warfare would be way less clan vs inner sphere after the battle of tukkayid.
Time to take the alternate timeline approach, keep the history but from here on make it our story cause trying to progress along a timeline so slowly and rigidly is absurd, imagine waiting ten real years to get back to the real clan invasion

So it's a new original mech. I see nothing wrong with that. MechWarrior 4 introduced no less than five original designs: the Uziel, Hellspawn, Chimera, Argus, and Thanatos, all of which are considered canon now. Half the fun of Battletech is the fact that the construction rules allow you to create your own original mech after all.

and the Osiris. the Deimos from the Mektek pack also became canon.
Those mechs were also meant for combat. THIS is an industrial mech playing pretend. It does not even look like it belongs on the battlefield.
