I wasnt able to use the PC Profiler to upload my computer's specs on the application. Program encountered a fatal error. I assume that this will preclude me from getting a key before August 7th.

The beta is a lie. Have you ever actually known someone in the beta? They were lying. Everyone here is big fat smelly liers. They lie about the beta to get your hopes up only to feed on your dispair.

Why can they not invite all founders?
When Aug 7 arrives they need to be ready for us and that is a small timeframe from now.

They still need to add capacity??

Not rude... just curious as to why.

Indeed I will but remember August is Founders accounts only, and they KNOW how many Founders there are because they sold the access. They counted the number of purchasers and know how many to expect. Release however will be a different story... you can predict pre-orders but you can't predict how many F2P kids is going to jump on this come day 1. It might be 500k or 2million. But they will eventually move to some open beta weeks meaning "anyone" can login to play; and they can hopefully use numbers from that to judge for release. This is something D3 didn't do because the game was one big sloppy PoS. For a 60$ title it was completely lazy and pathetic. You're better off buying Elite here than that. If you do like games like D3 then pre-order Torchlight 2 instead. It's only 20$ and will entertain you for just as long as D3 did. I tell people the 60$ you wasted on D3 could have pre-ordered Torchlight 2 and still have 40$ to spare. You've been ripped off and spoon fed Blizzard.

You add load in increments to look for possible bottlenecks. For instance a query may take 1ms to execute with one person but load x1000 people at once may take 20 seconds. As you keep piling people on top the ship quickly sinks and you can have services crashing and other fun stuff like data corruption.

Yes they are adding capacity regularly. It's why they keep sending out keys. As soon as they are able to properly handle more load they send out more keys.

I spent the better part of a decade working in Gaming QA before moving into production/design. Believe me, if you've actually done it, you hate it. Then again, its better than being a busboy in a restaraunt, which was my previous job.

I work with webapp and iOS enterprise applications. Usually small projects that take less than 10 days total of testing. Since they come and go rapidly it's not as bad. But the big ones are a giant pain in the *** to be sure.
