Also could be the Flea IIC.

Ugh, I hope not. We don't need another Locust reskin(We have enough of them already) and that thing is trollish novelty at best.

We actually do need a 20 ton clan mech since its the only weight class clanners don't have a mech for. That and its going to be much more than a novelty with the DPS of 12 upgraded MGs along with 3 clan lasers, and a clan XL allowing it Locust speeds. It'll blow the Locust out of the water.

Locust is a ground-bound stooped chicken walker. This is an upright humanoid mech with JJs. There is nothing alike. And there is nothing trollish about 12 MGs that can spat out heatless DPS of 3xCUAC5s. More, after the buffs.

The core principle of both mechs is the same. Cheap, fast trolly mech. I'd push for something actually unique, such as the Howler.

Unlikely I will accept anything else. If it's humanoid, it's a no-go.

There's only one Clan Light `Mech that fits the 20-ton criteria: Fire Moth aka Dasher. M.A.S.C., 6.5 tons of pod space, and is capable of out running the damn Locust at nearly 150 kph

Slow Lights (especially if they are mere 20 tons) qualify more as troll mechs, BTW.

MWO can't handle speed faster than 170 kph without tearing, so Firemoth with MASC is out of the picture.

Doesnt the dasher go 210kph with masc? Imagine the insanity....

You know, now that they announced improvements to rubber-banding and warping, perhaps the same fixes have opened the door to 'Mechs capable of running faster than 170 kph.
One can hope!

Would you accept the Hornet? Basically, its a heavily armored ball on legs with bottle rockets strapped to it's back.

So... you think a fast, trollish ballistic mech is too close to the fast, trollish (mostly) energy mech.
So your response is to recommend a totally unique... trollish missile (SRM) mech.

That hurdle was passed a long time ago, PGI's just been afraid to put their money where their mouth is in that regard. To quote myself having this discussion in another thread:
Sereglach, on 19 October 2016 - 06:54 PM, said:
- October 2013: MWO patched to new max speed of 170kph due to massive hit registration fixes.
- Sep 2014: MASC considered no-go because mechs will go too fast and break hit registration.
- Dec 2014 - Early 2015: Major hit registration fixes go out.
- April 16, 2015 town hall: MASC engineering is done and it could take mechs (namely mentions the Arctic Cheetah, but realizes he misspoke and that mech can't have MASC) beyond the current 170kph cap. They "MAY" have problems with Flea/Locust speed mechs, so they'll avoid them for now. In the same town hall it's stated that Neema would be working on even more HSR and hit registration fixes in the future.
- June/July 2015: June Townhall announces Neema making MAJOR HSR improvements that revolutionize hit registration and lift a lot of limits. Mech BONE rewinding in HSR creates a huge change that will make a huge difference.
I believe the quote comes in a town hall after this fact. However, next thing I could find without listening to hours and hours of town halls was that Jan/Feb 2016 MASC was getting buffed to further increase speed and agility and it wasn't a major concern on the hit registration side.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
That said I can only hope they're going to flesh out the rest of the classics, and get some 3025/3015 mechs (thusly compatible with HBS Battletech and MW5) into the game. My votes go for the Wasp, Mongoose, Stinger, Valkyrie, Hermes and Javelin in order of desirability for PGI to implement.
If it's a Clan mech it'd be Dasher/Fire Moth, Piranha, Incubus, Commando IIC, and Horned Owl in order of desirability.
