PGI's money as a business, developer, and publisher is funding the additional manpower and game development...which is entirely normal in the game development industry.

Has PGI stated this, or are you just talking?

Link?

OMG this is still going on?

Here let me make it simple for all the idiots out there.

You buy MC (or whatever content that PGI makes). You get the MC and PGI gets the money. That makes the money PGI's, and they can do whatever the **** they want with it. Which means PGI is funding MW5. Its not rocket science people it is basic concept of trade since the stone age. If you can't understand then please stop breathing you are wasting oxygen for the rest of us.

That's not how it worked for Transverse. The OP's question is whether it will be crowd-funded. Your answer appears to be no.

Based on what?

Based on they have not put up anything. When and if PGI decides for there to be crowd funding then it would be crowd funded and that would mean it is funded by the crowd. Although even saying crowd funding is not PGI funding their game is kinda asinine. I will explain, when you look at the game Battletech and how it was funded by HBS they did Kickstarter a "crowd funding website". BUT much like the transaction of MC from PGI, HBS gave away things in return for people who gave money to the project. Example of one of those items people paid for was $120 for a coat and some other stuff. Thus making it a transaction which means the money is HBS' and they are funding their game off of the transactions of the items they decided to sell based on the level of "funding" you chose.

Also anything is a transaction if you are getting something in return for giving something.

So even some one giving that $1 in HBS' kickstarter for Battletech they got something in return. They got email updates on the kickstarter.

why not take 30 seconds out of your life and use google to find out the answer to this question that apparently vexes you so?

It will be self-published, and there is no plan to utilize a platform like Steam's Early Access to release the game in an unfinished state. "I can't really see anyway that will work for this game," Bullock says.

Russ just told me on Twitter than they are self funding MW5M

He also said we don't get free copies of the game if we happened to have spent tons in MWO.
