Awhile ago I stumbled across what looks to be Paul's soundcloud.

https://soundcloud.com/lord-khyron/

I was surprised to see Paul could have some musical talent and singing ability.

Some of his stuff sounds pro lvl.

Many of the complaints I see in the live stream were directed at the music.

Should PGI have asked Paul to DJ the event?

They should've just used the music from their old mech trailers.

Or just shown the trailers themselves during the intermissions instead of the blank screen.

I mean a lot of the tracks in those trailers are really nice.

that had to be the worst dj ive ever heard. when i think big stompy mechs, i think metal (like some 80s german thrash), some industrial, and even a little techno (not that i approve of that sort of thing) even that oversampled crap that these kids listen to these days. you could have even shoved in some wagner or dvorak and it would have been an improvement. what we got was joline, which was not only the best track on that playlist, but the only one i actually could recognize.

i move that we use it to replace the aging rickroll as the go to fake link prank of choice of the mechwarrior community. ive set up a poll and you may vote here.

Dolly Parton, holy sh*t! Hahahaha
Wasn't the cloned sheep Dolly named after her, anyhow?

Results as expected.

I would love to know why Paul is kept on. The man still, even after all this time, ruins anything he touches.

Yes and no.

It was her singing that over some horrendous electronica/dubstep backing music.

Old school country is alright.

Electronica is alright.

Putting them together is like making bacon-ice cream soup.

I don't understand the complaints. That first half-hour of the Kodiak and Atlas doing... things to one another in slow motion, to a 1970's adult film soundtrack, was the best part of the broadcast.

And what's wrong with Dolly Parton?

as a matter of taste i refuse to acknowledge the existence of the version they used at mech con.

i always considered rickrolls distasteful. at least use music ive heard of. though my attempts to make slayerrolling a thing didnt work out too well. dollyrolling might work now.

OK, to be perfectly fair, I don't know that Paul had anything to do with the music we heard.

I just know what it sounded like, and I can't unhear it.
