I don't see any reason for it to be there.

You will when 48 Urbies come along and kick your centre rear back to the periphery.

So with new dropdeck changes it's worthy to bump this poll.

If you removed that, than games would be horribly lopsided, as light rushes would come in 3-4 waves instead of 1-2..

And people would cry about how lights are OP..

Not hard to build a med/heavy light mech killer, really. Builds would just change a bit and that's about it. Same way you can say it's all about camping base now with your quad ppc/gauss sniper.

- No, the people would whine about - "They take only light mech and we loose when meet some heavy ssrm mech with beagle probe and die!"
Anyway - in private lobby anyone can turn off tonnage limit and how really fun it is, but not playable in real game.

I agree with this idea.
Another suggestion I'll throw into the mix is not having to take 4 mechs.

There is a lot of discussion about the recent tonnage changes for balance.
If we didn't have to take 4 mechs in our drop decks, then this would allow for another balance option in limiting the number of spots available.

Wonder how that would work out.

Mind you... would also like to see a continuous style of battle where smaller drop decks and changes to the minimum restrictions become viable.

And what about light/medium only drop decks? 5 bays, no heavies or assaults, smaller overall tonnage (like 120-220)...

I can see this, if someone only wants to say run light Mechs. Heck, why not. I'm in.

My locusts are already on board for the idea. lol.
