I haven't played TT either, but in my defense, 1.I seem to have a better respect for it than certain people developing a game based on TT and 2.I just don't have anyone nearby to play it with. Posted Image

I'd buy an ost-mech. Yeah, I said it.

The original art on these 'mechs looks pretty dumb, but here's an Ostol battletech miniature that I found on google images. Looks significantly less silly as a miniature.

Spoiler

Ostroc miniature doesn't look half bad either.

I'd be totally cool with Ost- mechs if they took them more in the direction of what they copied. The BT versions looked so silly with their arms and heads.... I like the pods!

I have faith that they could change them enough to be 'reseen' but still capture the feel of the Battle Pods. I mean look how awesome the Locust looks now!

All Ost-'Mechs are actually pretty good in their job.

I saw that one. and it is an improvement.

I had a choice - I prefer this one:

Back then Imagination was more of a thing.

Me: Hey guys, I know that you have never played Battletech before, but it's a really cool game with combined arms and giant war machines! Interested?

New Players: Yeah. That sounds great! You have any pictures of what the mechs look like?

Me: Umm...that's not important right now. Maybe later...

Most new players find the old art incredibly goofy. ;)

99% of MWO players would not buy OTT-7K, since it does not conform to the meta of boating 8 SPLs or 8 ER Smalls.

Real iInformation warfare in MWO? Forget it.

Yes the Ostscout is bad, but the Ostwar, Ostsol and Ostroc are all kind of mean for their weight...

Anyone who thinks the OTT-7J is bad, has a poor understanding of how to win a sub 2900-pt MegaMekNET game.

My win rate was in the 85% range for several years (why yes - I do have the spreadsheets that recorded the results of every game, thanks for asking). I specialized in lights, and I usually had three light lances at any given time. The most valuable Level 1 units in my hanger, by far, were my OTTs.
