1 thing people don't realize about torso twist movement is where are the arms in relation to the waist pivot points.
Also the arm in relation to how the legs move. You can't have torso twist that lets the arms either bang into the leg area or hinder how the back joints move when walking.
The MAD IIC if it had 80 to 100+ degree twist I think arms would get caught in the upper joint of the legs and damage the weapons or legs of the Mech.
I'm going to enjoy playing with what I'm given with its 70 degree twist and try to use my greater mobility and speed to overcome this limitation.
If you want poor torso twist, just try a Stalker!!!
Also the Stalker has very poor field of vision too, unlike the cockpit of the MAD IIC.
PS - I have nearly all the Stalker Types as it is the only Assault I Liked before the MAD IIC came about.

I got one build for you, and you can only use on the Marauder IIC + S:
5 ER Large Lasers [2 RA/LA, 1 Dorsal]
2 Medium Pulse [RT/LT]
2 ER Small Laser [RT/LT]
Should enough tonnage to run this build. I ran this build back in the day when MW2 Mercs and Ghost Bears Legacy. Of course, different games, gfx, and systems, but should still viable. Enjoy!

Have any one of you ever tried to design your own BattleMech?
With so much lore, canon and fanbase info out there it is nearly impossible to make something that would satisfy everyone.
If the MAD or MAD II or MAD IIC was drawn like what was in the Tech Manuals there would be tons of copyright suits brought upon PGI games. It was 1 of the reasons that FASA Studios stopped doing MechWarrior games after MechWarrior 4 Mercs.
I'm very much happy with all that PGI has done for this game. Everyone wants thing to be fixed their way but sometimes you have to weight the pros and cons of fixing this would them make something else either to powerful or weaker.
I know there are problems with every game, but I like to try and think my way around the problem and still enjoy a good game with everyone out there. I do die a lot in the game but we all can't win every time. It would be like the ending of the movie 'Wargames' when Joshua nearly started WW3 and found out that Tic-Tac-Toe was not a game to even start playing because nobody would win - STALEMATE.

So compared to what standard are you basing your comparisons? Most of the the prior MW games weren't better that I recall...
You are entitled to your opinion, but when people deal in absolutes and blanket statements and attempt to make them appear as fact... well, ya gonna need to support your assertions.
So I invite you to model them better... i am curious how you can improve all the mechs currently in MWO, seeing as you've stated this is just another pos in a long line....
