I personally never want to play again with any players blocked in game. Alas, PGI cannot provide me that.
Thank you! I'm hoping for the permanent Block feature as much as anything else.
For those of you who believe it is a bad idea or cannot be implemented, could you enlighten me? I have never played an online game before so I really don't know how these things pan out. In my mind I'd love to be able to block a few people, and I would be fine with longer wait times if necessary. For example, I'd love to ban:
- the guy who joined FW last night, used his first mech to run around spamming the "Negative" button over and over again everyone muted him, used his second mech to sneak into the enemy buildings and shutdown without doing any damage, used his third mech to Alpha his lance mate in the back (definitely not a "weapons test oops"; I watched him run up to the other mech, line up the shot, and fire... he even used machine guns and sustained fire for a bit). Yes I reported him for everything... nonparticipation for the shutdown, spamming, etc. But if I had a "ban" button I could know he'll never be my teammate again.
- there are 2 players whose "leadership style" ruins my fun every time I'm on their team. It's gotten to the point where seeing their name on the roster makes me groan and consider disconnecting before the match starts (something I have never done and would never do but the thought crosses my mind every time). Screaming, swearing, insults, arguments, shooting players who don't respond quickly enough, blame games, sarcasm, shouting down other people trying to use comms, etc. And yes I report them and then mute them. But if I had a ban button it would be easier.
If there is something I am missing regarding how a ban button would mess the game up please tell me. I'm hear to learn and want to hear some experienced opinions. Thanks!
