You're master of gifs that make me feel uncomfortable. You can keep the title of Duke "Not-Safe-For-Work".
Okay, that's fine for me, I guess.

There is a reckoning coming, RestosIII. A reckoning. You and your clan are going down. Hard.

So I suggest you start stockpiling gifs. You're going to need them.

Oh that's cool. Do me! Do me!

Would be nice if the ignore feature actually made their threads and comments invisible for the user. Instead all it does is minimize their comments. I mean who can resist the temptation to keep the comments minimized?!

Yes. This is what I want is for them not to exist to me at all. I don't want them to see anything that I start or see anything that they start. Any comments that they make or I make. Just want to be completely invisable to each other.

PGI please make this happen and make it tied to who I block in game so it is just one click away.

And still doing well in T1 with it. It is not the mech, it is the lurmer behind it. ;)

If by 'well' you mean being carried than sure. As well I am Tier 3... I play against you a lot so I am thinking you are bottom of Tier 1 or there are so few players you really aren't getting into to Tier 1 matches against Tier 1 players...

Again I am probably getting sucked into arguing with another user but I would not make any comment at all if you were tearing it up in a hunchie 4j or whatever treb it is that does the spam... An lrm Jenner though is just ridiculous.

The gif fights can get fierce, though. It's going to get ugly when me and RestosIII finally go head to head to decide who really deserves the gif crown.

Anybody remember the sh*tshow when a certain member of -42- got banned after making racist comments here? So much Spiderman. Spiderman for days.

It was beautiful. That was when I first determined that I would be a meme lord here. I was never given a copy of the archived pages someone made, sadly. There was some great stuff in there.

And just like that, this thread turned into another 'I want to block people who are objectively helping their team more then me' thread.

Three more and they'll give me a free foot long down at Subway.

EDIT: That is also not how the MM works.

Anything caustic or over the top gets moderated as it should and any opinion outside the star chamber here gets multiple complaints and is removed by the mods. Only Fake news survives here as it should as this isn't reality.

I don't mind those who want to put on rose colored glasses in their insulated box. I get the whole safe spaces thing. Its pure human weakness and I enjoy knowing those people will get what goes around comes around in the end.

Let them have their safe spaces just like they want. Snowflakes melt when the heat is applied and you don't see them till it gets cold again.

I think you are confused with ignoring people and trying to censor people or stop them from saying stuff.

To continue picking on SJW's because well it's easy.

I am not a feminist going to a men's rights convention saying that there shouldn't be a men's rights convention and I am here and upset at what they are saying so instead of leaving I am going to demand that there not be a convention here for me to be offended by... I am saying don't go to the convention in the first place and don't let the feminists in the front door of your convention.

There's a certain delicious irony when someone mocks 'SJWs' and 'feminists' while trying to construct a safe space around himself.

You can't, because it's a dumb idea that's failed in every implementation, even from companies with more robust populations and better designed MM.

Thank you! I'm hoping for the permanent Block feature as much as anything else.

For those of you who believe it is a bad idea or cannot be implemented, could you enlighten me? I have never played an online game before so I really don't know how these things pan out. In my mind I'd love to be able to block a few people, and I would be fine with longer wait times if necessary. For example, I'd love to ban:

- the guy who joined FW last night, used his first mech to run around spamming the "Negative" button over and over again everyone muted him, used his second mech to sneak into the enemy buildings and shutdown without doing any damage, used his third mech to Alpha his lance mate in the back (definitely not a "weapons test oops"; I watched him run up to the other mech, line up the shot, and fire... he even used machine guns and sustained fire for a bit). Yes I reported him for everything... nonparticipation for the shutdown, spamming, etc. But if I had a "ban" button I could know he'll never be my teammate again.

- there are 2 players whose "leadership style" ruins my fun every time I'm on their team. It's gotten to the point where seeing their name on the roster makes me groan and consider disconnecting before the match starts (something I have never done and would never do but the thought crosses my mind every time). Screaming, swearing, insults, arguments, shooting players who don't respond quickly enough, blame games, sarcasm, shouting down other people trying to use comms, etc. And yes I report them and then mute them. But if I had a ban button it would be easier.

If there is something I am missing regarding how a ban button would mess the game up please tell me. I'm hear to learn and want to hear some experienced opinions. Thanks!

El Bandito 48 33 1.45 100 47 2.13 82 348
Evil Goof 35 30 1.17 62 41 1.51 66 241

I'd argue he's doing much more carrying than you are. Additionally he's doing it against the competition his tier faces, which is higher than T3's. Lastly, whether you are at the top or the bottom of the tier has not been indicated by PGI as having any bearing on the MM, so you're just demonstrating your ignorance of the game. You should just let it go while ya can, cuz while the J2C with LRM's isn't the optimal build for that mech, apparently he's overcoming that and having fun....and clearly doing better overall, even with his hand tied behind his back.

Without a significant cap, it would allow people to shape who they actually play with, potentially resulting in people "banning" viable competition in order to get a leg up.

It would potentially create longer wait times, hurting player retention in an already small population/niche game.

It would undoubtedly break off PGI's hamsters running the MM as they tried to play tetris with the huge number of pairing variables so many ban/block lists would create as people added folks they weren't fans of etc.

Yup yup! Perfect! That makes sense. Thank you for taking the time :)
