You know how often I am shooting mechs with bright glowing red ct's that just don't go down? Maybe 20 times yesterday alone. Yesterday was one of the worste two days for such things ever but still.

Got the back of my mech shot out at 700 meters by a Kodiak LBX. It took two shots, so ya both shots hit the back of my mech and I was facing the Kodiak full on both times.

Seen it all yesterday. I was expecting it though. Posted Image

that isn't cheating, thats really poor nectcode/hit reg from PGI

Looking at the top WLR ranks on Leaderboard right now.

1 - JP (Empyreal)
2 - Radick (Empyreal)
3 - slummy (Empyreal player, won MWOWC)
4 - TwinkyOverlord (Empyreal player, won MWOWC)
5- SilentWolff (CSJX)
6- Imminent (Empyreal player, won MWOWC)
7- Trevelyas (Empyreal)
8- Carnage X (Empyreal player, won MWOWC)
9- Agent 256 (dunno)
10 - Don Ino (Empyreal)
11 - heimdelight (Empyreal player, won MWOWC)

Yes, and in a lot of cases they are dropping together in partial groups or all together and they will roll anyone one that drops against them so they will have even better stats than if they only solo dropped. These guys do not need any unfair advantages to kick everyone's butts.

So are these examples of hacks or poor code/hit detection issues within the game? Are you in a position to know without doubt which it is? I do see things like this happen when spectating others, however I very rarely see them when I am shooting at others. I do have an unusually low ping so perhaps that it part of it?

This isn't about if this is happening. The interesting part is how many will lie about it. Its about how much a persons word is worth. For some its an unknown.

Some things its tough to tell the truth of whats happening or not. Computers? Not so much.

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding your point, are you saying that everyone who doesn't witness things the way you do and attribute them to hacks is less than honest in what they post and the observations they have are worthless?

Such a view would tend to reinforce why these types of things can't be discussed rationally on these forums, at least in my opinion.

Don't think he was saying it was cheating, I think he was actually making a point about the poor hit registry.

Any particular reason you launched a rather large, ornate yet paper machete shark at my house with an invitation? The post would've been fine!

Contractually obligated to advertise Clan Diamond Shark while I'm sending out invitations, and it's cheaper to send you one of those than deal with the huge C-Bill costs of transmitting a full message on the HPG network.

Looking at above stats does not make sense to me. If these are all tier 1 pro skilled players they should be playing more games. Even if they are tier 1 pros having new accounts playing at Tier 5 this is also too unreal. With this performance they should already be in Tier 3 engaging Tier 1 & 2 players which should not offer them easy kills. Worst of all they will scare off all new potential players. Any of you personally know these guys are really good players?

atleast 2 of them where on the winning team in the MWOWC... so yea those are legit..

Hit registration has been jacked up the last few months.

This thread has been full of lol though, a few people in it should be banned for shitposting, not guys from EON because they happen to be stupidly good at the game. I have played with and against many other top tier players, and anyone who played with modpud would never have expected she was using wall hacks until she spilled the beans. I was surprised Eglar got banned for cheating because I never saw suspicious play from him when he played regularly. I don't think there is a comp player out there who is cheating, otherwise they would have been banned by now. But the hackusations in this thread are out of this world.

Pro tip, anyone playing in the regional finals wasn't spending all their game time on the live client the last 3 months, they were playing on the tournament client. Those guys are all legit and you are a sorry potato who is trying to use comp players who can bloody well aim as a scapegoat for how terribad you are at MWO. You should work on your redaction skills. :)

As a matter of fact, I know two of them personally. Krizzman and Night Thastus are both very good players.
In fact, Krizz is on 228th's Black Watch, so that should say something in and of itself. :P

Truth be told, the majority of these "hack" stories demonstrate (contrary to what you tried to push later in the thread) a lack of experience or understanding of how this game works.

It's not an insult, and it may be correct within your perception, but these cases are almost always explained by hit registrations, latency desync, or oh, maybe someone missed a mech that snuck around the corner.

In addition, the whole "aim at a point in the ground" thing. That's called pre-aiming. People legitimately do that in a lot of other games (see Call of Duty, Counter Strike, etc.) because they understand the map enough and know that there is a high likelihood of an enemy being there (or they've see them there previously). Just comes with experience and game knowledge.

Oftentimes, the people I shoot at, are NOT in my radar/minimap, because visual acquisition is far more reliable than having to get the red dorito on them.

Last month i spectated a guy who, zoomed in, instantly locked on a locust leg that appeared out of cover, tracked the leg of that near pointblank locust with his arm reticle, stuck on that leg back and forth, back and forth, as it goes toward and around him while hes zoomed in. It was unreal, it all happened really fast because of how fast the lct ran toward and past him and he didnt shoot. The rest of the match he keep taking aim with great accuracy and alacrity but kept changing target like he never wanted to shoot the target he was on.
