Apparently you've never played EVE. That place is just the worst. Even the "friendly" people you meet wouldn't blink at shiving you the first chance they get if they would profit from it. And the not-so-friendly people do much, much worse, all while being total ***holes about it.

Really not that bad. Many groups for new players in EvE that take them under their wing and try to show them the fun in the game. Red v. Blue is a great way to learn PvP, very supportive. Nothing like it in MWO, which is a shame because it would be so easy. EvE is brutal because of station camping? Try spawn camping in CW/FW.

In PUGs I never wait more than 30 seconds for a match, even at 3 am PST. usually the wait is under 10 seconds. Faction Warfare is going to make a comeback I think with the new gametypes being added.

Players are humorous or honorable for the most part. Not at all like most PvP games where it's usually a stream of obscenities. You are definitely on a team even in PUGs. Some criticism when things go bad of course. And around here GG means Good Game, not Get Good. Get Good is a new one, GG has forever meant Good Game and MechWarrior has deep roots.

And MWO is continually getting better. (more new maps please!)

to be politically correct, the player count is ALWAYS going up. since no accounts are deleted, even if someone logs in once and plays one game before uninstalling, he's still considered part of it.

now. active players on the other hand have been dropping big since season 1. there was a small upswing in season 5, but whether that is going to be a pattern or an outlier has yet to be determined.

the servers are also opening all the release valves when it comes to matchmaking, which is why you'll often see tier 5 potatoes dropping with tier 1s. yes, it's not supposed to happen. yes, it's happening even if pgi doesn't want to say anything about it.

the only reason why the matchmaker does that is because there's simply not enough active players online.

so tl;dr, active players are dropping. a lot.
