I have seismic, I just wait for the red flashy.
I pay attention to my HUD, when it gets blurry, I know an enemy with ECM is near.

It's your own fault you've given everyone else enough practice to start getting good at those close in shots...

How is it relevant to what I wrote? I've stated I am at long distance with ECM so no red flashy, no Seismic and no blurry HUD. And I am behind so no watching neither, unless you're in Urbanmech or similar - but you've already stated that you're in "larger" mech.

Ok I may have miscomprehended what you were talking about, however, in answer to your question, I'm sure there's more players than just me who have edited their user.cfg and added something like:

cl_fov = 100

You might think we're staring out a teeny tiny window, but no, we're taking advantage of all the windows in our cockpit, while you may think we don't see you, we in fact do see you pop out of cover in an attempt to flank and with no enemy directly in front of us to keep our focus, notice you and turn and fire at you.

Oh yeah, and you might not be the only light pilot running around back there AND who is to say one of us didn't turn around to change position, notice you and report you to the rest of the team?

Lots of non-cheating options there...

Uh... you realize that there is an option slider in the game settings that can set your FOV from 60 to 120 or any number in between without you having to edit a .cfg file, right...?

Sure, however that was added so many YEARS after the game was released, I'm still used to going into USER.CFG.

Not like I change it that much any more, so, y'know...

Well, I have stated that cheap shots happen. It's somehow like saying that you could take one Small Laser and score 12 kills in game with it. Sure it could happen, but as the OP stated - it happens bit more often than before.

There is another thread on these forums somewhere where a Tier 4 and a Tier 1 were in the same SOLO quick play group. I saw it, I read it, it's there somewhere, maybe I'll try and find it.

So, yeah, at least at the time the screenshot was taken, MM was not keeping the Tier 4's and Tier 1's separated when assembling groups.

I have neither seen, nor heard of any official word from PGI on the matter.

I saw and read that thread too. I'd love to see some official word. It would at least make it not seem like they are trying to cover it up. Transparency is nice.

Guys, this is a REGULAR occurrence. And not just Tier 4 with Tier 1, Tier 5 also.

At the times of day I play (early morning US time) I regularly get put into matches full of Tier 4 and Tier 5 players.

How do I know? Because they talk about it. And not in a "hur hur I'm gonna fool you into thinking I'm low tier when I'm not" kind of way. They are talking about really noob stuff and I often have to clarify for them the basic rules of the game.

These matches are the pits.
