Yeah I am very disappointed. 1 channel color unlocked? Really? I was expecting to be able to change all 3 colors for some really cool effects where the heat patterns are. Considering all the cool paint jobs most of the special edition and hero mechs are getting, this one looks like someone just got lazy.

Yeah same, one color can be changed, totally disappointed.

That's just... Wow. Did they just forget to finish it or something? Because that _can't_ be what they intended to release. We _all_ know they are capable of better than that.

And here I was afraid I was the only one that noticed that the Scorch looks absolutely awful compared to the art. ALL the other heros look BETTER in game than the pre-release art but it seems that the Scorch got the "rattle can" treatment.

There are no words how dissapointed I was when I saw this abomination in my mechlab.. Collector version isn't much better too. I don't even know what to do but this is beyond lazy and false advertisement. If it wasn't for the awesome hardpoints it has I would immediately refund the whole goddamn Marauder package. ******* lazy **** artists. For this price. What a JOKE.

There's more salt in this thread than when the non-canon Roughneck was announced! Posted Image

Scorch camo is indeed a pile of crap. Luckily, it can be changed for one of the others, which are all nicely done.

So I am not the only one disappointed by this... good to know. Now, for the chance of a fix...

A fix should not be out of the question. For once in mwomercs forum history I don't think anyone will be opposed to PGI fixing it properly.

2 LBX-20s and 4 A/SRM-6s.

Good for 5 minutes of giggle time for sure.

Too hot. I run mine with LB10s and it's much more managable, can pack a bit bigger engine and sinks and is more ammo/heat efficient. You pay too much heat and ammo tonnage cost for most of the LB20 shells too get spread around - wasteful. While the LB10 build is over 1.4 heat efficient and can just keep going in a brawl.

But that's beside the point. Scorch camo is trash and needs to be fixed ASAP.

yeah but its fun to have the biggest gun.

I last ran it with 2 UAC-20s, those are always better at killing than the LB-20s.

That must be even hotter, you would have to do SRM4s then or it overheats like an oven. Meh, UAC20 is just bad. It sounds cool but I think in terms of practicality LB10 is probably the best bet (less face time too).

On topic: Scorch camo still terrible.

In fairness, the concept art of the Scorch camo looked pretty terrible too - in fact in my opinion this was Alex's worst concept art for a long time. Luckily the 3D model is really really good, one of the only times i thought the model looked better than the concept.

Looks like as the material is missing. Weird.

The color schemes for both the concept art and in-game version are quite accurate to real burned metal. However, aside from the fact the in-game version looks wrong compared to the concept art version, the in-game version's colors are that of heated metal which has a rough texture.

Rough texture on metal usually shows up when the tools being used for shaping the metal are not in a good condition anymore.
Which happens when those who use it are either not careful or just don't care / are too lazy to fix the tools.

Now, I believe PGI kind of exposed themselves with the in-game version of the color scheme.

I actually think the scorch color/camo looks better than the original art they used to sell the thing.

So, can we expect PGI to pop up here and admit they screwed up ?

And maybe they should put more than 2 minutes of basic photoshop brush to that "hero camo" ?

No. Somebody has to tweet Russ. And I mean it, seriously. If somebody can, please let him know.
