Me I like it, at first I thought it a little slow. Just sitting there, spinning your mech, taking off weapons and putting weapons back on. But then I kinda entered this zen state where I thought, man this is kinda good! Not have to deal with all the pugs and and hazle of trying to shoot stuff.

Yes I am talking about the secret mechlab game mode, were you think you are trying to start a quick match but instead of loading the map it says "map/mode: Mechlab" and woop you are right back where you started.

Too early to tell. First people have to work out the best tactic, then the people in solo queue need to learn what that is. Then we can get a sense of how well it works.

So far so good. But then again, that's what most people said about Invasion mode after day 1.

I hope you're joking, especially seeing that the last 2 matches I was in with you, not even 15 minutes ago, you never actually joined the game. Even if you DCd you made no effort to connect putting my team down 85 tons from the start.

Sigh, that was kinda my point. The game is buggy as hell for me right now. It disconnects me from the game and wont allow me the re-join. I get to play maybe 1 out of 5 games. I was going for the passive aggressive child style of complaining but I guess I have to work on my skills...

Had this issue too, solved it by running the repair tool. :U

Ran repair tool, restarted computer, checked drivers all the usual stuff. Nothing has worked so far, guess I just need to wait for a hot fix. At least this gives me time to work on my passive aggressive complainy skills!

They could give that atlas 6 atlases worth of HP and it still would melt under focus fire. And if they add even more turrets than there already are then attackers are going to melt under all of the turret fire before they even get to do anything.

It's almost like they listened to the game mode suggestion but not the suggestions regarding how to implement it.. like having decoys, or a convoy, or, maybe, I don't know, atlases that don't die from ammo explosions even though they don't even shoot at things?

I'm just wondering why the attacking team was given all those towers...

Yes, I know they are initially in the possession of the defenders, but the attackers spawn next to them and can just claim them before the defenders arrive.

Skirmish is the trash mode. Kill it with fire.

It's the ultimate trash mode, and sucks away what little depth MWO has. It's inclusion is the single worst decision PGI ever made. Not that Assault is much more mentally engaging, but it's still better. Conquest, needs a revamp (and a spacing out of the caps, to break up murderball) but is also far superior.
Domination is even better than Skirmish.

I like it . Now that ive seen what works on both sides I think I understand escort better .

For PUGlandia it is yet another poorly disorganized mess that depends heavily on luck and a few players coordinating effort. So, business as usual?

Pretty much, but still better than Skirmish or Assault. So it is a good thing in my book.

You should try FW Conquest. It's the ******* best. A shame it's tied to FW and getting rolled by clans.

Escort mode seems simple. Either 1.Leg the VIP and focus on the enemy team or 2.Ignore the VIP until after the enemy team is near or totally destroyed. Am I about right?

Skirmish is the only game mode in the game worth playing, you dont even need to bring weapons to the other game modes to win and isnt it just great when a good match is under way and then it just stops....because some some duckwit capped the base. Bring back mode selection, most players only want skirmish.
So far escort is even worse than a bad game of assault, turrets and light mechs dont get along, its an easy mode to survive but not necessarily win..another mode where surviving and winning have nothing to do with each other.
The mode would be measurably improved if there was a magical energy shield that both protected and locked the atlas position, to lift the energy shield and kill the VIP atlas -every enemy mech should have to be killed first, then the ken atlas can just ken auto destruct for all I care.
So why the animosity to this new kentard'd mode , because the ken AI of the atlas takes it across open plains of alpine peaks and really - anyone else here use spl's or ml's on a mech and enjoy being a target for erl';s and ppc's while the atlas picks the center path of a valley equidistant from every firing position. If you are going to escort something make it stick to the edge of the map, now 50% of the attack directions are shut down and you know which side the attackers have to come from.

No, skirmish is terrible and you are wrong. Back when we could hard select game modes and even now when we vote a lot pick/ed skirmish because they are mouth breathing neanderthals that can't handle map objectives and want nothing but mindless death match with the occasional game of chase the light mech around for five min. Skirmish is and always will be a terrible game mode no matter how many people continue to select it.Posted Image

Another player who can't figure out what to do if there is more options than point at the other guy and shoot. Thinking is haaaaard!!
But don't worry. All the modes except conquest are basicly just skirmish.
