The big difference? Really? Not so much that one side is pro-pony at the other side is anti-pony. How about this: the pro-pony thread is staying alive because none of the bronies hurl insults at anyone. They stick to their own little hobby, in the off-topic of the off-topic. The "haters" get frequently banned not because of the anti-pony stance, but because of the constant resorting to name-calling and stereotyping. The wall of text written by Blackjack 6 is a great example since he assumes psychological instability, alternative sexuality and the whole "you live in your parents' basement" attitude. Want your threads to stay alive and your accounts in good standing? Then cease with the direct insults.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure when people inject politics or unfitting memes, they get told to ****. When it happens to bronies, they get self righteous and angry about it like you are now. People are mean on the internet. Get over it. It's not like you're fighting for gay rights or something.

You say get over it? If I am to get over it then why don't peope just ignore the bronies? That's truly the way to root the problematic ones out, just like a dog that won't quit barking. If you acknowledge it then it will just keep happening.

I'm pretty sure everyone who derails threads stomps around in protest when others point out that they're derailing threads. Of course, you are right about one thing; people do tend to suddenly get big, tough and uncivil the moment they have the interwebz to hide behind, mostly children or the uneducated, who haven't figured out that the particular means of communication is immaterial to the virtues of civil and intelligent discourse.

If people are derailing other threads with off-topic posts, then obviously people are going to get annoyed, but people do that here with posts that range from political diatribes to internet memes. I don't see why the brony/furry crowd get such hate. From what I saw, until a bunch of instigators decided to go around and judgmentally spew vitriol, both groups seemed more or less content to keep to their own threads, and certainly had no more propensity to notably derail unrelated discussions than those trying to do the same thing with any other of a myriad of topics.

look im not trying to be an ******* here, im on the fence persay, i understand what your saying but let me clarify about "in your face"i meen the ones who post outside the threads and when i or someone else actualy asks kindly to stop posting them for once we get attacked as a "hater" while others are actualy attacking them, after that i join in on the jackass parade against them.

Why are the missiles on the right curving upwards?... Also, is there a higher resolution or one formatted to fit 1920x1200?

Well yeah, but why would you use LRMs when the enemy is within small laser range?

Well, if my dog kept barking I'd train it not to. Either way, some bronies will keep the threads and activities up, and some haters will seek out bronies to hate.

It's like that one friend everyone has that "hates drama" yet constantly causes it.

Skadi, you're a reasonable guy, and I don't think you have anything to prove on that point.

If there are, in fact, such people running around derailing such threads, then there is some hatred justified; I guess I was just saying that that should be aimed at the derailing itself, and not the particular interest

You train your dog not to bark by ignoring it....

Also, I guess when you put it that way it's the two people who "hate drama" yet cause it.

Go ahead be a brony, just don't flash it around where it isn't relevant. It's annoying and stupid to do so and the images and everything related to it being spammed everywhere isn't helping at all. I still do not understand why on earth you would want to watch a show about ponies and rainbows but go ahead.

Bro, I wasn't talking about mechs. I thought I'd put it here so I wouldn't get a bunch of pre-pubescent kids who don't know grammar and sit around playing CoD all day to come in and just say one horridly spelled word.

Bro, it doesn't matter if you weren't talking about mechs. We're in a forum dedicated to a mech game. That is also the context in which I answered why there's brony/furry hate HERE at least. If you want to know why there's hate everywhere, then I don't have an answer for you, and I must question why you posed your question in a mech forum. Why must we have pony and furry threads here? If you really want mechs, ponies, and furries combined, then can't you go start your own forum about it? It's not too hard.

It doesn't look like I was posting in a mech forum anyway... I was posting in an offtopic forum that is attached to a mech forum on a website that is generally related to mechs.

I've read the posts here and many have given valid points for and against. I am here to play Mechwarrior Online. I am here to be immersed as much as I can in a game I played in the late teens and early twenties. I am not here to see pony merc corps or brony clans. They are simply not part of the game. If you want to be a brony and watch MLP, please feel free to do so and have fun with it. Please though, don't bring MLP and Brony into this game as it has no place.

This is the entire problem. People who dislike bronies/furries are equating it to some kind of fetish. And while there ARE some people who treat those genres as some kind of fetish, it gives a bad rap to the rest. These communities are not a bunch of pervs, just a rather odd corner of the fanboy world. Of course, i think the ponies are odder than most, but who am I to judge? I'm still hooked on 80's cartoons myself, even some of the stupid ones. :)

I think most people who aren't into fetishes equate anything out of their comfort zone as a fetish. I'd guess that most people view the definition of fetish as a weird obsession, so they feel safe describing weird habits as fetishes. Who knows.

Interests are interest... It's the perception of them shaped by the many, most visible/present bronies. The fact that most bronies in this discussion have not yet accepted or understood that is just testament to the fact.

And I'm 110% sure that when you get to play Mechwarrior Online you can do it without interruption, but until then, either get out of offtopic and back to the mech section or deal with it.
