Not really. If you don't like it being in offtopic and you find what's in the thread annoying, it's your fault for continuing to read. If you think that offtopic is still supposed to be dominated my MWO chatter, you're going to have a bad time.

What I don't get is why he isn't hating on all the non-mech related stuff in the three off-topic forums we have free use of, if that's really his complaint.

We had a scifi vs thread awhile back that ran for almost 100 pages and he never appeared (a couple other haters did, but not for that reason), and I also remember a cake vs pie thread, a non-BT giant robot thread, a specific zoids thread, dozens of computer hardware/software threads, a long-running political thread, a Star Trek thread, several Star Wars threads, a currently running thread on something called "shadowrun", a Battletoads thread, numerous WoT threads, a gun thread or two, and that's just what I can recall off the top of my head, yet somehow this poster, who supposedly is only against getting off the topic of mechs, hasn't been around hating in any of them. It's just been the pony stuff.

How is it that you consistently miss the point entirely? Once again, you asked a question, I answered it. Your lecture is that of stubbornly addressing me from a high horse (see what I did there?), when really you don't have a leg to stand on.

Well, if I truly had a leg to stand on, why would I be on a horse to address you? Hmm?

But seriously, you couldn't keep your **** together and then started on about it being annoying with MWO. Had I posted it in the MWO General category, yeah, it would have been stupid but I posted it in offtopic.

No flame intended here but here it goes: Bronies and Furries get flamed on because they are different from what most people consider normal. It is that simple.

People dislike the unknown and the not normal.

Granted what one person considers normal, might not be what another considers normal, but there is a pretty set 'standard' with in societies or groups of people. Look at the stereotypical bullies in school with a new and different kid. Why do they pick on them? Because they are different from what is considered normal to the area.

Personally I have no problem with bronies, I even have a few friends who are, and another friend and I constantly make MLP references around another friend who absolutely dislikes bronies just to annoy them. :)

Furries...I just do not get. I'm sorry I just don't, but to each their own.

This. This can essentially sum up the entire thread right here.

I'll admit I find it very strange. It only bothers me however when the die-hard ones come out and essentially force it, spread it, and glorify it on every aspect of the forums. To them I have this to say;

"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding forum environment but you bronies do not. You move to a thread and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Bronies are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure."

and yes, it is strange for grown men to follow shows that are for young girls. And to clarify, yes, a cartoon about ponies is a show for girls. A cartoon. About anthropomorphic ponies. Let that sink in.

I've also traded around some pony stuff for the sole purpose of annoying some of my friends, but yeah, I'm sorry, even having a furry friend or two, that one is one I just don't get either

Still, nicely done on the rest of the post

Ok...sure, I guess I really flipped out back there and couldn't keep my #### together. Actually, I have no idea what you're talking about. I think you read my comments with a preconception that I'm somehow flaming you or something. I'm blunt, not rabid. Brony and furry threads are still stupid in MWO, off-topic or no, and I explained why people don't come here for that at all.

Yeah, if a friend mentions they like furries it's hard to try to respond. Don't get it, don't understand it. Still like the friend, just another notch in their "weird-stuff-(name)-likes" tally.

More importantly, to answer the thread.

Everybody* loves to hate sterotypes, it does not matter that person/fan does display any traits of said sterotype. As long as said person/fan can be labeled under a sterotype for just belonging to the group being sterotyped, nobody* cares appearntly.

Its just a sad part of human nature, and a lot of ignorance.

You know, I'm a bio student and an animal lover, and from that standpoint, I can understand it to an extent, and I'm even an occasional admirer of some of the non-anthro artwork (I've met a few exceptionally talented people), but once it starts getting to fursuits and the like, it goes beyond me just not having an interest; I just don't see the appeal :/

Sigh...some people never listen and choose to remain ignorant. It's like...beating a dead horse.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

Okay, I can admit that I'm being bullheaded here, I am being VERY stubborn with my points, but you're trying to push that "It's offtopic and ponies shouldn't be here.". If you can't accept that offtopic envelops everything not MWO then you can just go, we don't need somebody that is ignorant of it being offtopic.
