I literally just spent some of my precious MC to get a Smoke Jaguar one-shot for my brand new MLX-D I bought last night. It was necessary for the story I need to tell... of Deedee the 'Mechmas Lynxdeer. There will be screenshots. Here's a preview:

"But the greatest gift wasn't really a gift at all... it was the knowledge that Santatlas loved his darling little Mist Lynxdeer so much. Especially Deedee, with her shiny UAC2, who led the way so bravely through the stormy weather."

Why does Saint-Atlas have an LRM rack? Especially since his Commando elf isn't running a NARC for him and his lurm tubes.

Santatlus confirmed scrubtier wood division.

How else can Santatlas deliver so many presents to all the mechwarriors in the inner sphere? The payload in the lurms were replaced with toys. Just lock on to a chimney, fire and keep moving.

unless thats actually an LRM10+A or a hidden LRM20+A launching in two salvo's, he aint delivering anything to anyone without a NARC to all those naughty MAD-IIC's running around.

All Commando Elf wants for X-mas is arm mounts that don't look ridiculous.

So .... what is the optimum load outs for Old Saint Atlas and Commando Elf for delivering presents?
This needs to be checked and discussed! Because a poor load out will leave good little mechs without presents.

Well the Atlas pictured is either the BH hero mech or the RS. BH has 3 E hardpoints in each arm, 1 B in right torso, and 1 M in the left torso, which is not particularly great for brawling, especially if you are running the 400XL. The RS has 2 E in each arm, 1 B in the right torso, and 2 M in the left torso, also not great but a little more versatile.

The commando looks like its the COM-1B with the loadout, but it doesnt have the larger 'box' hands thats visualized in the picture, only the TDK has the box hands but doesnt have hardpoints in the chest. Unless this is a special variant I havent seen or my knowledge on commando's is lacking (I suck at piloting light mechs, so the latter is fairly likely). But it looks like the Commander has 2 lasers (probably medium lasers, but could be small lasers depending on the engine) and an SRM2.

Neither are particularly useful mechs to take to the field as they currently look. The atlas could be packing a mid/long range build with either an AC10 or AC20, 4 medium lasers or 4 large lasers, an LRM10 (or possibly 20, with double volleys), but even in the best of cases, its not going to be able to pack much ammo without sacrificing engine rating or sacrificing heat sink spacing. If Saint Atlas was actually interested in delivering presents to all the mechs on the field, he would be packing 2 LRM launchers instead of 1, take an AC10, 4 medium lasers and load up on lots of ammo.

So ... based on Matt's post that santa altas uses lrms to deliver presents and your observations from the pciture ... santa atlas is not optimized for delivering presents.

I think the community needs to help PGI with the best possible build for santa atlas for next year, as the build in the picture needs a better present delivery system.

If you are looking to missile boat on an atlas and not be a brawler with 3-4 SRM6's, then you either got D-DC or the S. D-DC has 3 missile hardpoints, S has 4. None of which is what Saint Atlas is, which is either the BH or the RS, which has 1 or 2 missile hardpoints, which is pretty measly at best for firing ALL THE MISSILES.

The KGC-0000 makes for an excellent missile boat though with 4 high mounted missile hardpoints. Which depending on if you want Artemis or not, you can make it an LRM60+A or LRM80, and still have plenty of space and weight to take some machineguns and lasers and have plenty of LRM ammo. I actually have a KGC-000B with 3 LRM20+A and 4 machineguns and is really damn silly but fun to pilot (I have 5 KGC's, I do what I want).

Well I have more of a 'mid range' build here, using the D-DC
[smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...cc238c1508f48af[/smurfy]
3 LRM10+A w/5 tons of ammo, AC20 w/2 tons of ammo, 2 LL, 300 std engine, ECM, near max armor.

A more meta D-DC build would be this:
[smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...13f8b979f3a3ec4[/smurfy]
3SRM6+A w/3 tons of ammo, AC20 w/2 tons of ammo, 2 LPL, 315 std engine, ECM, near max armor.

It would be cool if MWO would release a 'False hero mech' Called the A7S-SA (Santa Atlas) with only a +15% cbill boost for 500 mc. Only missile quirks, 4 missile slots, 2 ballistic, no energy, with a special santa camo pattern. Call it the 'deliverer of presents and pain'. No lore/canon or anything, just a fun mech.

Based upon the idea that LRM's are present delivery systems, I believe in SantaClopse
