Want to share some screenshots of my favorite mechs.

Never had any real favorites before MWO.. Now i have a lot.

Used paint schemes: Lyran Guards, Lyran Regulars, Donegal Guards, Arcturan Guards, Royal Guards, Skye Rangers.

My very first mechs here were two Centurions. Well, three, before they took away AH to sell Yen-Lo-Wang. I was glad when AH returned.
Despite ugly rework i still love them.
Spoiler

Then there were Commandos. When i tried a Commando, i slapped myself for not buying them first, lights were simply broken before HSR, and so easy to play.
They also were much sexier before the rework for dynamic weapons.
Spoiler

Then came Griffin and Zeus, and soon they became my very favorites.
Spoiler

Spoiler

Somehow, Thunderbolt was lost in their shadow, but in retrospective - probably my favorite heavy, and a reliable workhorse.
Spoiler

But of course, afterwards came the mech to rule them all. Well, not one, but the whole gang!
Spoiler

...And some other mechs i feel connected to: the Awesome i had ever since beta, my scouting Hunchie, and a few more.
Spoiler

The Waco Rangers Mercenary Unit, a unit known for it's hatred of the Wolf's Dragoons after the death of Wayne's son, John Waco.

The unit uses the traditional Ranger dun color scheme with rust-red accents. - FM: Mercenaries, page 92

Out of curiosity, i recently repainted all my Mechs that usually would have the Rasalhague Camo bcs they all had lost their good look and appeared like hobos so i now use the Steiner camo.

Seems the rasalhague camo has stopped working for me.

Has anyone of you expeirenced that too?

I already brought it up to the support years ago though i honestly play so little it makes no difference anymore but i am curious about it.

Do you mean they looked like hobos (basic green paint) in the mech select screen? This resets whenever you lose the .ini file. Just need to resave the mech (move some armor around) to fix this.

Can of course get tedious when you have hundreds of mechs.

Surprised my post on page 4 still shows up, since Imgur has long since gone defunked.
I should do the balkencruz on my Atlii... Atlases (?) for a Steiner Scout Squad motif.

Well, they looked washed out i guess is the word and the colours would become sort of greyish greenish while the gold parts of the rasalhague camo would become rust and i dont say what the silver had become bcs i cant say it here.

I will take a look if your hint helps and thx for it! Posted Image

Yet, i got what you meant - its not that i have lost the camo its still applied but the colours do not look like they looked when i intially chose the camo.
Especially the primary channel that should be black (obsidian or hotrod in my case) is metal grey.
The secondary channel seems still to work.
The silver looks lile drool and the gold looks like rust coloured bronze.

Honestly the black also doesnt work on the steiner camo there it appears as metallic blue but it doesnt suck that much.

Its definitivley a colour/camo issue.

Huh it's possible it could be a monitor color wash issue. But who knows.

Just make'm as pretty or drab as you wish.

Bonus points for bright colors, high contrast, straight lines, and a target to say "shoot me here" in the heat of battle. Dont need ya sneakin up on me Posted Image

Exactly that - it is futile to hide a Mech, you can cover it, you can stealth it but you can not hide it.

My Monitor is good, i have not issues with any other game.
I witnessed how Mech after Mech lost its ommpf in regard to that camo.
A very few still have the good camo but i wanted to see how Steiner looks on them.
Its definitively a MWO per Mech issue.

First it was my Founders Mechs that lost the look, Hunchback, Jenner, Catapult, Atlas to make a timeline and than the Shadow Hawk and some more.

My Corsair still has the good look...

Its a per Mech issue...

Huh. Some of my Legacy, Hero or Special mechs have a certain sheen or other effects to them. Maybe that's attached to the mechs themselves and not the pattern. I've never tried repainting the patterns, but that would make sense to me.

Like the Marauder II Hero. That blasted thing has this Green glow, so it really screws the colors you try to paint it with. I'll check to see if changing the pattern kills the green, but I doubt it will.

I have watched them change one by one - they all looked as dark and pristine as the Corsair.

A Mech being old does not mean a Mech can not be painted - it only means you have traces of wear and tear visible, not becoming the paint invisible!

The Founder Hunchback got an updated skin pattern a while back, which dramatically improved the look with the stock color. It does change how it looks with other colors applied though.

Edit: I see, it's the Rasalhague pattern. It has a unique texture that mostly overrides dark colors, so only bright ones shine through.

Edit: Edit:

With the default pattern (or other non-special ones), black comes through fine:
(Also imgur.com isn't defunct at all, it's still going strong, :P)
