It would be useful to have a text based (searchable using CTRL-F in our browser) MWO timeline page showing the BT dates of all major or less major events announced or communicated via the ISN.

As the game progresses, it will be more and more difficult to keep track of what happened and when it did. Having such a clear text timeline page would help newcomers and veteran players both, to get a global picture of how the storyline unfolded since it all started.

Exactly what I meant, with the exception that I would like to see an actual line (or graduated timeline) on the left of each news, where more important news (plot changing) would have a bolder line or special marker.

The goal is to be able to quickly, at a glance, see when important events happened and then see in more details what lead to them.

Hmm, well it is possible to add a filter for news items that are important, but I don't know how I would be able to decide which ones are important or not. I'm only adding the fluff news to the timeline and none of that has struck me as important yet. I am going to add a filter to the news items so I can, for example, display news that only concerns the Free Worlds League on the FWL page.

I agree with Tweaks. It's be quite nice if it outlined some of the more major events before now to give the game further historical context.

Kind of why I suggested it here actually. Only PGI would be able to "rank" the news and events accordingly.

The date code on those seems a little... off. Epoch time strikes again eh?

Let it refresh properly, it has to load somehow... Turns out fine on my side in Firefox (i.e. December 13, 3048)

What do you mean? The dates should look like "5 October, 3048" for example. I am updating the database right now, so the timeline and the archive are gonna be wonky for the next few hours. Tweaks, you're probably seeing a cached version. It seems the wiki has an aggressive cache system since I still see all the dates too. But, if you go to private browsing in firefox, you'll only see a few of the dates are still on there.

Everything is up and working on my timeline. I've added filters to the archive page that will let you view news broadcasts by factions. The nice thing for me (and I'm sure none of you are as psyched about this as I am) is that all these pages, as well as the ones on the factions pages are automatically updated as I add entries to the interactive timeline.

I added an additional filter for the characters who are mentioned in the headlines. Clicking on their names further filters the headlines to show all of the ones they feature in (so far only a couple appear twice).
